What’s More Dramatic: Mira’s Monochromatic Saree Or Deepika’s Power Sleeves?

Bollywood isn’t dramatic enough. Said no one ever! Bollywood can never fall short of drama and neither can fashion, it’s in the blood. Recently, B-town actors including Rekha, Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and many others attended an event in Mumbai. From extra-shiny gowns to over-the-top jackets, event’s red carpet was ruled by drama. Of course, Ranveer Singh wore a floral jacket which was more dramatic than any of the glimmering gowns we spotted. But what caught our eye was Deepika Padukone’s white gown and Mira Rajput Kapoor’s Zebra-saree. Here’s why!

Deepika Padukone took to the red carpet wearing a custom-made gown by Falguni and Shane Peacock. Styled as usual by Shaleena Nathani, her look can easily be defined as stunning. The white gown featured a plunging neckline, a train and voluminous puff sleeves, which Deepika pulled off with style. The form-fitting gown was cinched at the waist with a metallic belt. The look was impeccably finished with smokey eyes, a selection of rings and Deepika signature sleek bun.

Honestly, it’s not easy to carry voluminous sleeve details paired with plunging neckline, with ease, especially, when it’s a plain white gown with no distractions like print etc. But Deepika owned the look like a boss!

Another addition to the list of Bollywood’s innovative saree styles and for a change, it’s coming from Mira Rajput Kapoor, who has been taking the fashion world by storm with her appearances. Her sense of style is already being appreciated on Instagram and this sartorial choice got us talking as well.

Mira attended the event sporting a monochrome saree by Shantanu & Nikhil. Her black and white outfit featured a twist that isn’t easy to own but she pulled it off with a black strapless corset blouse. The saree was cinched at the waist with a metallic belt. Mira rounded off her look with neatly centre-parted hair, minimal make-up and black heels. Mira’s stylist, Anisha Jain chose to ditch the neck piece and the negative space perfectly compiled the look.

Which look do you think is more dramatic and would be willing to try for an event? Don’t forget to let us know if you are trying them!
