Sridevi’s Dream Was To See Daughters Rule The Silver Screen, Reveals Jaya Prada

Sridevi’s Dream Was To See Daughters Rule The Silver Screen, Reveals Jaya Prada

At 2:32 am on Sunday morning when I got the news update that the legendary actress of our country – Sridevi Kapoor had passed away, I couldn’t believe what I was reading. Just until Friday, all of us were gushing over her beautiful outfits and stunning make-up at Mohit Marwah’s wedding. It just felt unreal and little did I know that soon I would be writing a story where I would refer to the iconic actress in the past tense. Sridevi’s tragic death just made us all realise the fragility of life and how the only reality is death. We should all just spend more time with our loved ones and clock in as many good hours as we can while we have the time.

And at a time when the entire country is mourning the loss of Bollywood’s ray of light, actress Jaya Prada has shared what Sridevi’s ultimate wish was. And it has only broken our hearts further. Talking about the late actess, Jaya Prada said in an interview to a leading daily, Srideviji was a great human being, a fabulous dancer, a tremendous actress and above all, a wonderful mother. In her long career, she has played so many varied and entertaining characters and will be remembered as a dream girl forever.”

Jaya Prada further added, “News of her demise seems like a bad dream. I couldn’t believe it till I saw it on news channels. We worked together in several films like Tohfa (1984). She was a wonderful actor and mother. It was her dream to see her daughters (Janhvi and Khushi) rule the silver screen – just like she did.”

Sridevi was heavily invested in her elder daughter, Jahnvi Kapoor’s debut film – Dhadak, produced by Dharma Productions. Since Jahnvi was so busy shooting for her debut film, she couldn’t accompany her family to her cousin’s wedding in Dubai and was not with her mother at the time of her demise.

We wish the entire family immense courage and strength to her daughters,  Jahnvi and Khushi. We cannot even begin to imagine what they are going through at the moment.
