Justin Trudeau & Family Wore The Cutest Colour-Coordinated Desi Outfits!

This weekend Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, started his eight-day tour to India. If you’ve been following him, you know that he’s no stranger to desi outfits. In Canada, he wore a kurta to celebrate Diwali and he also made headlines for donning a veshtion on Pongal.

The Trudeaus truly know how to win hearts. Early this week, they were seen posing in front of the Taj Mahal scenery. Canadian prime minister visited the monument and tweeted a picture of the family saying, “I was about Xav’s age when I first visited the Taj Mahal almost 35 years ago… and it’s amazing to be back with him & the family on Day 1 of our trip to India.”

The Trudeaus landed in Ahmedabad wearing warm Indian colours. The family planned to visit the Sabarmati Ashram, Akshardham Mandir and to interact with students of IIM Ahmedabad. And to do so, since the moment Trudeaus got out of their plane, they’ve ditched their usual outfits for auspicious shades of yellow and red.

Justin Trudeau was dressed in a red, band-collar kurta with a beige churidaar and he matched his dupatta with it. He traded his shoes for chappals to complete his Indian look.

Sophie Gregoire Trudeau chose to wear a bright yellow, long kurta, with white palazzo pants from Anita Dongre. With drop earrings, gold bangles and bindi, we’re loving her desi vibe.

The Trudeau kids were dressed in red, yellow and orange Kurtas. Xavier James matched his father’s outfit with a red kurta and beige churidar. Ella-Grace was dressed in a yellow kurta, with a red churidar. Just like her mother, she also wore drop earrings and a little bindi.

Hadrien, who has been in the news since he landed in India, was dressed in a kurta with orange print with a loose, beige churidar.

Ace designer Anita Dongre is earning the reputation of being popular amongst foreign dignitaries on their official visits to India. Queen Mathilde of Belgium also chose a dress from Dongre’s ‘Tree of love’ collection in 2017. The Duchess of Cambridge chose a dress by the designer back in 2016.

We can’t wait to see what the Trudeaus wear during the rest of their trip.
