What would you do if you caught your partner cheating on you?
We all know how the tale of a scorned lover goes, don't we? A wonderful couple, happily married and very much in love, until one of them comes home to find the other in the arms of a stranger.
What we all imagine next is perhaps a loud showdown or a dramatic exit where the husband or the wife screams "How dare you?" and proceed to ruin the other person's life.
But, what if you don't confront your significant other, and decide to make the third person's life hell, instead?
Before we say anything else, it's not a personal, sordid tale, but the plot of the movie, Blackmail. Meet our common man, Dev, played by the legendary Irrfan Khan, who comes home early one day to surprise his wife, only to find her in bed with another man. Dev has the obvious two cliched options in his hand: kill his wife, or her lover.
But our protagonist comes up with a third option which none of us saw coming: orchestrate a blackmail and destroy the man who ruined his marriage.
The plot twist arrives in the form of another blackmailer threatening Irrfan, instead! The trailer takes a dark turn towards the end, as we see guns, chase sequences, and gory details of a revenge plan gone horribly wrong.
This mix of comedy laced with dark humour, if done right, can become another Irrfan Khan masterpiece! So while we're waiting to see what happens in this twisted tale of a man scorned, here's the trailer to give you a sneak peek.
Directed by Abhibay Deo, the man who gave us Delhi Belly, the film also stars Kirti Kulhari, Arunoday Singh, Divya Dutta and Omi Vaidya. In addition, Baadshah, Guru Randhawa, Amit Trivedi and rapper Divine have been roped in for the film's music album.
The movie is set to release on 6th April 2018, and we're really curious about the reaction of the audience.
