Akshay Kumar Gives Us An *Inside* Look At The Sets Of Kesari

We've all seen pictures of Akshay Kumar sporting the bald look through the promotions of Padman and wondered about it. Well, the actor has been going through an intense schedule of shooting for his film Kesari and it seems like it is pretty demanding. The film, produced by the actor himself and Karan Johar, has Parineeti Chopra as the leading lady. Latest update from the movie is his post, where he has donned his turbaned warrior avatar and is surrounded by adorable Afghani children.

When asked about his heavy ensemble for the movie by a leading newspaper, the actor said,"I’ve started shooting for my film Kesari, where I’m in the heaviest turban and beard I’ve ever had to wear. So I shaved my head to make my life a little easier. I’m known for hating wigs, prosthetics and so on, and Kesari is quite demanding. It’s probably my favourite look, though it’s taxing to fight and sweat in this avatar. But I wouldn’t change it for the world.”

Akshay is immensely proud of the role he is playing and rightly so! The film is based on The Battle of Saragarhi which took place before the Tirah Campaign on 12 September 1897. It was fought between the Sikh soldiers of the British Indian Army and Pashtun Orakzai tribesmen, where 21 Sikh soldiers killed 600 Afghans lead by Havildar Ishar Singh (the role we suspect Akshay Kumar is playing). We are as excited as him for the release of the movie, with all the hype that is attached to it we're sure that it will be a remarkable watch.
