Ram Gopal Varma Wishes To Create A New ‘Sexual World’ And We’re Mighty Curious

When someone says Ram Gopal Varma, there is one very vivid memory that pops into my mind. It’s from one of the episodes of Koffee With Karan, where Karan asked Anurag Kashyap and Anushka Sharma a question – “Ram Gopal Varma is…?”. The question was simple but the witty man that Anurag is, he had an incredibly funny answer…

While it was just another funny Koffee With Karan moment, we all know that Ram Gopal Varma needs no introduction. The man has been in the news (read: controversies) for various reasons. Sometimes for shaming journalists and at other times, to make absolutely thoughtless remarks. And these days he is back in the news for something that has left us a little puzzled.

The eccentric Director has come up with a new docu-drama titled God, Sex and Truth starring adult-film star, Mia Malkova. Mia is seen talking about her work and why she does what she does. After Sunny Leone, she is the second adult-film star to be signed on by an Indian filmmaker. He explained to a popular daily that this is his attempt to destroy hypocrisy and social stigma about sex.

Mia Malkova announced the release of the film on her Instagram which showcases her and her opinions on sex. It is all set to release online at 9 AM on 26th January.

While we think that it’s a bold and great topic to work on, we are wondering whether Ram Gopal Varma’s take on it will do justice to the subject. He happens to be the same man whose tweet “I wish all the women in the world give men as much happiness as Sunny Leone gives” was called out for being disrespectful and sexist. Are women just objects to satisfy men, Twitter had asked? And a complaint was filed against Varma in Goa by activist, Vishaka Mhambre. His eagerness to make a film on the Mumbai 26/11 attacks also showed him in a media-hungry light. How Varma then takes up this issue and portrays it would be an interesting thing to watch.

The trailer for the film released on 16th January. We’re prepped up for what’s to come!
