So much yummy food, many gifts and amazing quality time with loved ones, if this doesn’t spell the perfect holiday season, then I don’t know what else will. In all honesty, I eat and drink merrily all year around, but somehow during the holidays, everything tastes better. A lot of us took off for the holidays and some of us were here, but whatever said and done our skin might have taken a hit or two.
Here are a few of my holy grail products to jump-start your skincare after your holidays!
Before I begin to tell you about my favourite products though, you will have to look at making a few lifestyle changes too! You know what I am going to say next right? Yes, hydrate! Drinking more water will aid in washing out toxins. Relax with a cup of green tea instead of your usual beverage, give your body and liver a little detox. Also, try and cut down your caffeine intake, this is the time for your skin and body to relax and rejuvenate.
With post-holiday hangovers in mind and a few detox needs to pay heed to, here are some products to start the year on a good skin note!

You might have taken a little liberty with the alcohol the last few days of the party season. That's quite okay, but apart from de-puffing your face, you might need to load it up with some intense moisture!

A sheet mask is the quickest way to wake up your skin after a long night. Just slap this baby on for 20 minutes to calm and awaken your skin.
Seriously, I never believed it when people told me that your skin needs more moisturiser at night. Well, that’s partially true. Your skin repairs itself at night, and this cream is one of my favourites to aid that process.
Didn’t sleep too well? Well, put these under eye patches on while you drink your morning coffee and eat breakfast. Keep them on for 20 minutes and you can totally fake beauty sleep while we all know you were binge-watching Black Mirror! P.S.: I suggest you pop these in the fridge before you use them.
Face mist is a usual staple in my handbag anyway, but especially during this time. Just a spritz or two a few times in a day works wonders in livening up your skin. It’s also a saviour for those of us battling dry and flaky skin.

Trust me, a long night and not being able to have caffeine the next day is definitely going to make sure that there is some major bass work going on in your temples. This roll-on is a god sent!
As I said, cut out the caffeine and replace it with green tea. It aids hydration and detoxes your body. It’s a win-win, honestly. If you’re like me and can’t give up on caffeine, then cut down on the amount. Have just one mug in the morning to function, and green tea for the rest of your day.
Well, this should help give your skin and general detox situation a boost. I hope you had a great GREAT holiday season!
