With over 18 years of experience in the industry, celebrity make-up artist Ojas Rajani is best known for giving Aishwarya Rai Bachchan a royal Rajputana makeover for Jodha Akbar. We caught up with the make-up guru and here’s all that he has to share for the 2017-18 bride.
Matte or dewy… What do you prefer?
OR: Dewy make-up looks subtly sexy and gives a radiant glow to your face. Matte foundations end up looking a bit cakey after a while, all thanks to the humidity. A bit of a highlighter on the cheekbones, tip of your nose and decolletage works just fine and instantly adds a gorgeous glow to your face.
A multi-tasking make-up product for the girl on the go?
OR: Multipurpose eyes, lip and cheek stains are such a winner. They come in lovely creamy and shimmery textures which makes for a natural make-up look.
A beauty treatment you’d recommend to every bride-to-be?
OR: This is tough to choose but Vitamin C and hydra facials really help in taking off that unwanted tan and pigmentation. They even give your skin that instant glow which is very noticeable. Girls with acne prone skin should definitely consult a dermatologist and make changes to their lifestyle and diet accordingly. There are also some great laser treatments, derma rollers and yellow peel treatments that are extremely effective on troubled skin.
Your favourite Bollywood bride till date?!
OR: Aishwarya in Jodhaa Akbar is my favourite. I think she looked gorgeous!
The one make-up product you totally swear by?
OR: Laura Mercier’s Secret Camouflage concealer is lovely. You could wear it under your eyes and also on areas where you have pigmentation.
The one make-up product every bride-to-be should add to her beauty trousseau?
OR: I think a glow-getter is an absolute must-have. It is a highlighter that comes in a stick format and is also easy to apply. You can get it from brands such as Maybelline and Becca.
The biggest bridal beauty trend this season according to you?
OR: Gone are the days when everyone wore reds and maroons in weddings. People are now sporting a very minimalistic make-up look with nude lips and glossy skin. It also works well if you are looking to accentuate your eyes on your wedding day.
That one red lipstick that flatters most Indian skin tones?
OR: Ruby Woo by M.A.C, hands down is the best red lipstick ever.
