The good part about the end of 2017 is the end of nose hair and lightning bolt brows. The better part? Some fabulous trends that really made an impression on me. As the industry finally opened its eyes to beauty being more inclusive and less judgemental, some beautiful trends made their way to us. And I am hoping they stick around. Here are the few we’re holding onto and taking with us well into 2018.
1. Glowing Skin
Glassy, glowing skin is here to stay. And no we’re not talking about bathing in highlighter! A subtle, nude glowy make-up look is evergreen. We’re looking forward to seeing more glowy skin in 2018 too. Brands have been coming up with natural looking highlighters to replicate a subtle glow, and we’re all for it. 2. Bold Brows
A good bold brow is here to stay. Stray away from those crazy brow trends and opt for a neatly filled-in brow instead. 3. Metallic Make-Up
2017 was all about holographic make-up, unicorn highlighters and rainbow highlighters; we’re looking forward to seeing a more refined version of this trend in 2018. The Kween of Kontour, Kim Kardashian just launched a stunning, universal highlighter. Look forward to more brands dropping such metallic goodness in 2018. 4. Monochrome
Monochromatic make-up has been making waves on the runway all season and this is definitely a trend that’s flowing into 2018. The Pantone colour of the year is ultraviolet and we’re looking forward to seeing some stunning make-up looks in this hue! Use metallic eyeshadows like M.A.C Veluxe Pearl Eye Shadow (Rs 1,400) in glossy textures and we promise you’ll look nothing less than a stunner.
5. Ombre Hair
The ombre hair trend is definitely here to stay and it looks gorgeous on absolutely everyone! An ombre is the perfect way to give your hair some dimension. If you’ve been thinking of getting your hair coloured, an ombre or a balayage style should definitely be on your shortlist.
6. Chrome Nails
We saw all sorts of crazy nails trends in 2017: vagina nails, boob and bubble nails were a few of them. But the trend we’re definitely taking with us to 2017 is the holographic and the chrome nails.
