#DitchThat: Bad Beauty Habits Team POPxo Is Saying Goodbye In 2018!

#DitchThat: Bad Beauty Habits Team POPxo Is Saying Goodbye In 2018!

We are still making our peace with the fact that 2017 is coming to an end, but that hasn’t stopped us from updating our list of New Year resolutions. We might make and break our resolutions every year but let’s accept it, we are not giving up on the ritual. Usually, our attempt is to ditch our bad habits and replace them with good ones. This year, we are taking it a notch higher by being a bit more specific. We, Team POPxo, are dropping our one bad beauty habit and add a good one in return. From getting the right manicure to drinking more water during the day, all are a part of this list. We’ve gathered them up for you so you can share with us what you’re ditching and all that you’re picking.

1. Over The Top Nail Art Is A No, No!

What To Ditch: I enjoy getting my nails done or rather, doing it myself. But the more I explore the creative nail design pages on Instagram, the more shocked and intrigued I get. While some people love to keep it classy, others leave no stone unturned in creating as stark designs as possible. I mean, have you heard of fidget spinner nails? Yeah, they do exist. I appreciate the art, yet this beauty trend didn’t really work for me. I tried it a couple of times this year but it wasn’t practical and wasn’t in sync with my work life, so I’ll be moving back to my traditional manicure.

The New Me: I make the promise of drinking more water almost every month but I’ll certainly make it happen in 2018. This little change will go a long way in improving the health of my hair and skin.

2. The No Make-up Look Needs To Go!

What To Ditch: The no make-up look! I’m too lazy to make an effort most of the time and that shows. I end up looking borderline sick at work because I can’t even get myself to put on lipstick in the morning. So maybe this year, I’ll ditch those lazy excuses that prevent me from trying.

The New Me: I’ve been meaning to learn how to contour since forever, but I never get around to it. This year, I’ll at least develop a daily make-up look that would fit into my busy schedule.

3. It’s Time To Make To A Regime!

What To Ditch: After a long day at work I find it tough to get a night-time beauty regime in place. Somedays I just crash, some days I just wash my face and crash, and there are a few days when I properly wash my face, moisturise it and comb my hair before getting into bed. This lack of effort at night usually leads to really bad morning skin that I just cover up with make-up.

The New Me: I promise to get my nighttime regime in place with the proper products in place AND follow it. In winters, it’s going to be super tough but I will try my best anyway!

4. Gotta Take Off That Make-up!

What To Ditch: I have this really bad habit of not removing my make-up before hitting the bed. So, every time I put any make-up on my face, I just sleep with it on. I hate to say it but I don’t even remove my liner and mascara! So in 2018, I’m going to ditch this habit of sleeping with my make-up on.

The New Me: And then obviously, as a good habit, I will not only start removing my make-up before bed but also start moisturising my face well before drifting off to dreamland!

5. I will eat BETTER for good skin.

What To Ditch: I am really bad when it comes to nutrition. And good skin demands so much. I eat sporadically, don’t exercise enough, have irregular sleeping habits and don’t take any multivitamins. If you were looking for a cocktail of bad skin, THAT is it.

The New Me: I don’t know if I’ll ever exercise as much as I should, but here’s something I can do – UP the nutrition. I am going to take primrose oil, biotin and a multivitamin – all excellent for good skin, hair and nails!
