Asymmetrical Necklines: Our Favourite Trend For Spring 2018

Asymmetrical Necklines: Our Favourite Trend For Spring 2018

A little forecasting into the year 2018 and we are happy to announce that the dawn of the asymmetrical necklines will ensure that we’ll be moving over the off-shoulder trend to newer collarbone flaunting methods. The silhouette dances around your neckline, shoulder and wraps itself around your collarbone. Since the shoulders and the neckline have been fashion’s favourite body part for a long time, the style hasn’t really taken us by surprise. But it definitely is a refreshing change and a trend we’re expecting to rule the racks in the coming year.

The trend, first spotted at Prabal Gurung, Altuzarra and Calvin Klein, has already become a celebrity favourite. Deepika Padukone’s viral look from last month familiarised people with the silhouette.

This mocha coloured asymmetrical top (Rs 1,990) is just right for work or a Sunday brunch with the girls!

Well, we love the trend for reasons more than one. It’s wearable – somewhat like a calculated risk and something you won’t find uncomfortable to sport. Besides, the neckline has room for experimenting which makes us curious about the styles we’ll be seeing in stores. From twists to geometric silhouettes, let’s see what the trend has to offer!

You can style this white asymmetrical top (Rs 845) with a pencil skirt to rock an outfit from the boardroom to the bar!

While we’re excited about the trend, we’re also secretly hoping that this doesn’t become the ‘I’m going to be everywhere trend’ of 2018. Remember what happened with the off shoulder, cold shoulder and then the drop shoulder? Either way, we’re ready for the asymmetrical neckline, are you?
