Short But Hot: Braided Hairdos To Dial Up Your Style Quotient

Nothing should stop you from achieving those braid goals — not even the length of your hair. Cornrows, crown braids and straight-up space bun, all of these are possible with medium to short length hair. All you need is a bunch of bobby pins, hairspray and styling gel. For inspiration, take a look at these fun bun pictures that we’ve scouted just for you.

1. Space Buns

We’re adoring these space buns shared by BBlunt. They are retro but totally chic, and perfect for any music festival you’ve got coming up. And it’s simple to achieve: just part your hair and make two braids, then twist them into two buns on either side and fasten with hair pins to secure. The stylists at BBlunt suggest that using a volumising spray gives your buns the body it requires. Why don’t you check it out yourself and tell us the results?

2. Crown Braid

A whimsical crown braid is every girl’s ultimate hair fantasy. Simple, elegant and effortless, this style should be in your playbook. If you have a short length, don’t attempt a full crown; rather use the top section of hair to create this look, while the rest can be left open. A good hairspray goes a long way in keeping any shorter layers or fly-aways in control.
