If you’re anything like me, I have a lip balm and a lipstick stashed in every corner of my house, car and purse! I love me some good lip products. But a good lipstick can be pretty hard to find and the process involves hoarding tons of stuff you probably use for a few weeks and forget about. But we have a few staples we’ve discovered this year and we’d love to share the secret to our fabulous pout with you! Let’s bring in 2018 with a smooth, irresistible pucker and steal one last kiss before the year ends?
Here are some of the products we absolutely loved and used up in 2017 and we are totally bringing them with us into 2018!
2017 has been a whirlwind of change for me with moving cities, constant travelling and changing weather. My lips have been showing signs of unhappiness. For the most part of this year, my lipsticks have taken a backseat and lip balms have come to the rescue. My absolute favourite holy-grail lip product by leaps and bounds is the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask. It's creamy, buttery and extremely moisturising. I cannot do without it! I apply it day and night and my lips have never felt and looked better!

If there’s one beauty product that I can not live without, it has to be the M.A.C Lip Conditioner. I started using it sometime in May and I’ve been addicted to it ever since. It’s an emollient-based balm that acts as a perfect base for my lipstick. Even on days when I’m in no mood to paint my lips, just applying this baby on its own makes my pout feel softer and appear glossier.

My skin repels anything matte and it’s the same when it comes to my lips. I’m not a huge fan of lip balms since I like to add more colour to my lips. My only saviour is the NYX Cosmetics Butter Gloss- Angel Food Cake. Lip gloss is for all seasons and this shade is perfect for a night out or a day event. I’m never letting go of this product and will definitely use it all throughout 2018.

With all the rage about lip glosses and lip kits (thank you, Kardashians), I’m a sucker for time savers like lip crayons so I was instantly attracted to Faces Ultime Pro Starry Matte Lip Crayon. The best part is that these crayons are great dupes for Sugar and Bobbi Brown. As for the formula, it starts off a bit creamy but ends with a matte finish, making it one of my current favourites.

Lip Balm Junkie! Yes, if there was a beauty award or a superlative like this, it would be me who would win this. I have at least 7 lip balms on me AT ALL TIMES. If you think that is too much, my super moisturised pout would like to have a word with your cracked one. On a serious note though, while I do like my lip balms there are just some places where you need to have a coloured lip (no that wasn’t a racist comment). I bought the Maybelline New York Baby Lips Candy Wow in Cinnamon because I liked the name of the shade and the packaging. But the product caught me off guard! It is a lusciously moisturising lip balm with the most gorgeous and pigmented nude tint. I am hooked on this! I use it during the day as is, and for date night I just top it off with gloss for added oomph.

I am not someone who enjoys using too much of a lipstick, I prefer to keep it subtle with a tinted lip balm. The sheer shades of this lip balm gives a just-bitten look to the lips, which I like. I love that it eliminates all the stickiness and moisturises well. I accept that I first bought and tried this product because it was a balm with sexy name and cool packaging but L'Oréal Paris Infallible Sexy Balm is probably the only beauty product that has now become a constant.

This is hands down the one lip care product that I’m not just taking with me to 2018, but 2019, 2020 and… you get the drill, right? I am a total lip balm person and so it goes without saying that I love buying and trying new ones. But, ever since I got my hands on this one from Forest Essentials, I didn’t budge from it! It has the goodness of kokum butter and organic beeswax and has the sweet scent of Indian roses. It’s LOVE in a tiny jar, basically!
