Taylor’s ‘Reputation’ has been the talk of the town for a while now, and rightly so. It isn’t the album we wanted from Taylor; but, instead, it’s the album we didn’t even know we needed! She’s gone all out with her obsessions, feeling and the roller coaster ride her life has been for the past year. Swift has come under a lot of criticism over how her album spirals out-of-control drama stemming from an obsessively narcissistic space; but, from Taylor’s perspective, it’s just her side of the story (which it always is, anyway). The album has already sold 700,000 copies in the U.S. on the first day of it’s release, and counting. We held our hearts and awaited the new Taylor, she did not let us down!

In her track, “This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things,” she pens down the line “feeling so Gatsby for that whole year,” and it describes exactly what she’s been doing. Her 4th of July parties, her videos (remember Blank Space) everything had us warned.

There are little to no traces left of the old Taylor and honestly? We don’t mind. Her new music is refreshing and relatable. She’s finally an adult with strong opinions and zero fear.

Everybody is so busy making the album about her fallout with Kanye and the Kardashian but there are so many song that revolve around Taylor just being in love. The heartfelt lyrics (her signature style) is still intact.

Sam Smith and Reese Witherspoon are throwing shade on twitter but Taylor is too busy basking in the glory of her success. Can’t hear them over the cheering crowd!
