There’s no denying the fact that out of all the 16 players in the women’s hockey team of Chak De! India, we had a major girl crush on Preeti Sabharwal aka Sagarika Ghatge! Her effortless style and her chill AF attitude was just so relatable. Well, turns out that Sagarika is just as chill in real life too! For the uninitiated, let’s announce it once more. Sagarika got married to Indian cricket player Zaheer Khan in a court marriage on 23rd November 2017. The newlyweds have been having quite a few celebrations after getting hitched and the pictures sure are gorgeous. But what stunned us most about the events was Sagarika’s effortless bridal style in each and every one of the functions. We loved her outfits and you will too… Take a look!
1. A stunning red saree for the court marriage
Who can do such intricately embroidered blouses other than the master Sabyasachi himself! Sagarika picked a bright red saree for the court marriage and paired it with beautiful oxidised silver jewellery. She also wore the traditional green bangles that are an important part of a Marathi bride’s attire. Her hair was pulled back in an elegant low bun and make-up was kept minimal.
2. Pretty in pink at the after party
The elated newlyweds threw a dinner party post their court marriage and Sagarika looked like a million bucks at the gala. She wore a dusty rose pink lehenga from Faabiiana and opted for silver-toned jewellery and subtle make-up. She went from pulling her hair into a bun to loose curls for the evening and looked so, so gorgeous.
3. Going green (okay, sea green) at the mehendi
By now you have a fair idea of the fact that Sagarika is no ordinary bride. She opted for a super heavy and embellished sea green lehenga by Anita Dongre for her mehendi. The outfit was paired with Rajputana style jewellery, which comprised of a choker, earrings and a dainty maangtika. Her hair was pulled back in a simple ponytail and we agree that she couldn’t have looked more stunning.
4. Rocking the cocktail in grey
Not many brides opt for a colour that is considered dull by most people. But Sagarika is anything but cliche, and so she picked a stunning grey lehenga by Falguni and Shane Peacock for her cocktail ceremony. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail again and she opted for contrasting ruby and diamond jewellery to go with the outfit. A dark wine lipstick completed the look.
5. Elegance and nothing less for the reception
The pretty actress took elegance to another level with her beautiful ivory and gold-toned Sabyasachi lehenga for the reception. She went all out with heavy kundan jewellery and dewy make-up. With her hair pulled back in a simple bun, she was a vision to behold. We’ve never seen a bride looking as elegant as her and we’re not even exaggerating!
