“The act of adding volume and defining the shape of your lips with fillers is called lip plumping or lip augmentation. We usually line the patient’s lip with microblading which is a finer version of tattooing,” explains Sharad. Most experts use hyaluronic acids fillers since it’s naturally found in the body. Once injected, the gel found in the filler improves the shape, structure and volume of the lips.
2. Who Is It Ideal For?
Just if you’re serious about getting your lips done, you must know must know THIS beforehand. “Anyone above the age of 20 who has thin lips, no outline or just want to better shape, can opt for lip augmentation,” says Sharad.
3. What Is It That Happens In A Session?
The safest and best is injecting hyaluronic acid fillers onto your lips, assures Sharad. A usual appointment will start with counselling. “After numbing your lips with an anaesthetic cream, the HA filler is injected into the lip outline to give it definition. It is also injected into the bulk of the lip to add volume,” explains Sharad. The entire procedure takes around 30 to 45 mins.
5. How Long Does It Last?
If it’s HA it should last anywhere between 5-8 months. To keep your lips plump and lined, it is advised to opt for a microblading touch-up every 8-10 months. “The best part about hyaluronic acid filler is, if you don’t like it, you can get it dissolved and go back to normal within 2 hours,” reveals Sharad.
6. Are There Any Precautions You Should Take?
“To avoid bruises, one should stay away from painkillers, Vitamin E, and herbal supplements.”
7. How Much Does It Cost?
“It depends on patient to patient, but it’s usually around Rs 24,000,” says Sharad. P.S. The price may differ in your city.
