Pro Tip: Invest in a high-quality hair straightener

I always carry a hair straightener in my kit. It is an all-in-one tool and eliminates the need for me to carry 3-4 hair styling tools in my kit. I use the hair iron to create texture, waves, curls and straight hair.

Must-Have: Hair Straightener Corioliss Titanium Styling Iron (Rs 5,999)

Pro Tip: Scalp Contouring!

Every girl should have a dry shampoo in their kit because without clean hair no hairstyle can be achieved. On days when you don’t have the time to wash your hair, dry shampoo can be a lifesaver! It immediately lifts the hair roots and adds volume.

Contouring fixes everything! To achieve the perfect hairline and frame your face shape, try this hack. Add some matte dark brown/black eyeshadow (based on your hair colour) to your hairline using a small eyeshadow brush. This is the part where the scalp is most visible. Lightly brush on some shadow to those areas and ta-da!! Your hair will look fuller, thicker and it will bring your look together. It is used by every Bollywood celebrity hair artist!

Must-Have: Batiste Dry Shampoo (Rs 749) and M.A.C Veluxe Eye Shadow – Brown Down (Rs 1,350)

Pro Tip: Dry shampoo is your Genie In A Bottle.

Very often with first-time clients especially; we have no idea about their hair texture. Creating a number of hairstyles can get really challenging in such situations and the one product that I absolutely swear by to create multiple hairstyles is dry shampoo and texture powder. This will absorb excess oil from the scalp and also add volume to fine hair.

Must-Have:Batiste Dry Shampoo (Rs 749)  and Schwarzkopf Powder’Ful Volumizing Styling Powder (Rs 1,447)

Pro Tip: Try to de-stress a few weeks before the wedding and brides, say YES to hair extensions. It’s a better alternative to hair colouring.

If you’re planning to get your hair coloured for the first time ever for the big day, but you’re really confused, then it’s better to steer away from it. Instead, opt for natural hair extensions. You can try a variety of shades from brown, light brown or blond streaks. Not only would your hair be safe from hair colouring chemicals but you’ll also have the added length, volume and colour from the hair extensions. Then you can explore a gamut of hairstyles and take your pick!

I often come across brides who are suffering from hair loss. It’s no surprise though, planning your big-day often increases the likelihood of stress owing to crash diets and sleepless nights. Most brides go through these phases. I always recommend these products, they really work like magic!

Must-Have: Kiehl’s Ultimate Thickening Shampoo (Rs 1,900) and Eyova Egg Oil (Rs 590)

Pro Tip: Always dry your hair before you use a styling tool and skip the conditioner!

Dry hair is easier and safer to style. Use a heat protecting spray to protect your hair from damage. A little texture to hair helps hold the hairstyles in place; so don’t use conditioner or serum after a hair wash. For last minute plans, keep dry shampoo handy to avoid oily roots.

Must-Have: Batiste Dry Shampoo (Rs 749)

Pro Tip: Avoid straightening your hair before your wedding

Do not get any straightening or smoothening done before the wedding, in fact, I request all my brides to not even condition their hair for almost three weeks before the wedding. A little roughness holds styles better. And of course, real hair extensions can fix just about any issue instantly.

Must-Have: I love to use the Muxo extended 22” extensions for brides.

Pro Tip: A hot oil massage fixes everything

The one hair tip I would swear by is a hot oil massage, it’s the best deep conditioning method for your hair. It solves most of your hair woes like dryness, hair fall, grey hair and lustre. Especially for the people who have recently had their hair exposed to heat styling, this could be an at-home spa rejuvenation. One must try to include this in their hair care routine and practice this minimum once a week.

Must-Have: Parachute Advansed Deep Conditioning Hot Oil (Rs 99)

So, ladies, dry shampoo is the clear winner here. Don’t rule it out unless you try it once. We promise you no disappointments here. The best hack is to use a brown-tinted dry shampoo if you have extremely dark, brown or black hair.
