Going to a wedding is something we all look forward to. After all, what’s not to like in a desi shaadi? You get to dress up, dance, meet friends and family and also savour a lot of great food. But the only problem arises when we get to the dressing part. It’s all cool if it’s a wedding in the family or it’s your bestie who is getting married. The procedure is simple then, you pick a heavy lehenga and book an appointment at the parlour. Sorted! But what if things go wrong and for some reason, you are required to do your own makeup? Well, I think I could surely help you out in this situation. Here is a list of 6 make-up products I swear by for a shaadi ready look. Check them out.
This is the first step of my make-up regimen. I use the Fit Me foundation in the shade Natural Buff because it suits my warm skin tone. I take about 5-6 drops of the liquid and apply it evenly all over my face. Then I take another 4-5 drops and apply it over my neck to avoid any colour differences. I like to use my fingers to blend in the foundation as it has a nice, watery texture to it. You can even use a make-up sponge for an even coverage. Once that’s done, move over to the next step.
I love my Maybelline New York Fit Me foundation. It’s a great budget option too! You can buy it on Nykaa for Rs 489.
The next step is to set your foundation with a compact powder. Some people prefer loose powder, but I totally swear by my Maybelline Clear Glow Compact for the purpose. I pick it in the shade Natural because it matches my skin tone perfectly. I just dab it on my face and neck with the help of a puff to give my skin that flawless glow. And with this step, my base is all done!
You can get the Clear Glow compact on Amazon for Rs 285.
The next thing I do is line my eyelids with my favourite Maybelline Hyper Sharp liner. It’s my all time favourite liner, better than any other pencil or gel ones I have ever used in my life. It’s comes in a pen format with a brush applicator that allows for easy application. It is a bold black colour that makes my eyes look chic in an instant, and not to forget, helps me do the winged trick flawlessly.
Loved it? Get it on Nykaa for Rs 450! But hurry, it’s a limited edition!
Next stop - dramatic eyes! I have been using my HyperCurl mascara since forever! Many mascaras came and went, but this one stayed true like a loyal friend. I have bought at least 7 of these successively. Yes, that’s how much I love it! I am not a fan of super long eyelashes. I usually go for a more natural look, but also want my eyes to stand out at the same time. Just 2 or 3 strokes of the mascara are enough to give me the look that I desire. And not to forget, this mascara is super affordable too.
If you want to opt for bolder look, then you can try the Maybelline Colossal Mascara which is available on Nykaa for Rs 383.
How can I step out for a shaadi without putting on my favourite lipstick! I love Relentlessly Red by MAC as it is my go-to lippy for all the functions. I am a total lipstick hoarder but my dial always stops at this one whenever it comes to getting ready for a party. After my eyes are done, I just paint my lips pink with this shade, and just like that I’m all set!
Get this gorgeous dark pink lipstick on Nykaa for Rs 1,500.
The last thing I do is add some colour to my cheeks. For this, I always go for my Cheeky Glow blush in the shade Fresh Coral. It’s a very light peachy colour which gives just the right amount of pinkish glow to my face. I apply it on the apple of my cheekbones and slightly brush it on my cheeks and I’m good to go and rock that shaadi!
I also like the Lakme Absolute Blush And Shimmer Brick for the same. It’s available on Nykaa for Rs 616!
I hope this list helps you in times of need (read: when you have to do your own make-up for a wedding!)
