We love it when creatives get together from different parts of the world. This isn’t the first time that the two creative geniuses have come together. After their first collaboration in 2015, they came up with a collection of shoes and bags in 2016,Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Christian Louboutin are set for another collaboration. These designers are coming together to present a capsule collection for men and women.

In last year’s collaboration we saw some really gothic designs comprising mostly of black, red and golden metallics. This time however, we’ll see new Christian Louboutin styles reinvented and handcrafted (and some made to measure) in the most stunning saree fabrics - all from Sabyasachi’s personal collection.
It was when Christian visited Sabya’s private archive of sarees and ribbons in the city of Kolkata that they decided to make ‘the embroideries into shoes that can dance into light’ (in Christian’s words!)
The collection features a dozen of women’s shoe styles including thigh-high boots with delicate leather straps that highlight the wearer’s leg.
Tall and Deep - CL X Sabyasachi
Showing his love for Bollywood actresses dressed in Sabyasachi, the designer adorns The Piloutin - an evening bag designed to look like a precious pillow. With embroidery and ribbons, the bag embodies a poupette handbag charm.
With all new Dandelion loafers, there’s also something exciting coming up from Sabyasachi! The embroidered toe-cap is an ode to Indian weddings. Also, don’t miss the rich fabric that the shoes are now covered in!
As if this wasn’t enough, Christian Louboutin created a graphic novel, ‘Deep Sleep for Beauty’, which tells the story of a beautiful Indian actress cast under a spell only the two designers have the ability to free her from!
“Indian handicraft is the best of the best in the world. The luxuriance of Indian workmanship is at the maximum. I would love the world outside of India to love it as I do.” says Louboutin, the man whose signature red soles are every woman’s dream. So it’s really no big secret that we’ve got something irresistible in store, is it?
