7 Times Kangana Ranaut Broke A Fashion Rule & We Loved It!

7 Times Kangana Ranaut Broke A Fashion Rule & We Loved It!

Kangana Ranaut is one fiery gem. The lady knows how to fight her battles – whether it’s gossip about her personal life or speaking up against nepotism. We love her sass and honesty. And the fact that she manages to bring that out with her style! Recently, while promoting her upcoming movie, Simran, she broke a lot of fashion rules which deserve some attention. We broke it down for you, along with recommendations on how you can get her look.

1. Ruffle Trouble

Ladies, you know how hard it is to rock a pair of stark white pants. Kangana did that and went ahead to add elaborate ruffles. She combined her Rosie Assoulin outfit with a choker and instead of matching her pants and shoes, she balanced the heavy ruffle pattern with striking red Salvatore Ferragamo stilettos. She donned this look for her recent interview with Barkha Dutt.

2. Loose Pleats

Recently, when actor Julianne Moore wore a loose floor length Valentino gown at the Venice Film Festival, she carried it off well but it invited some criticism on social media. Kangana also picked an outfit that’s loose but it worked well for you, thanks to the pleated pattern and bell sleeves. The pleats, pattern and the sleeves engage your eye so it doesn’t look like you’re wearing a tent. The Givenchy dress looked amazing with her updo and those black boots from Fendi added height. 3. Sari in style!

Saris always work the best and Kangana aced her Sabyasachi blooms. She worked this look for the (much talked about) interview for Aap Ki Adalat with Rajat Sharma, chairman and editor-in-chief at India TV. While she chose to style her curls in an updo, you can try a similar design with loose straight hair, too.

4. Knots are hot

Kangana chose these Roksanda pieces — mixing a classic nude deep neck kimono-like top with a pair of dark indigo blue cigarette pants. The nude heels make the whole look more feminine. You can try the look with a regular deep neck top with or without a smaller knot.

5. Pucker-up!

Before we saw this, we honestly thought that puckered sleeves were long gone! Kangana’s halfway-up-curly hairstyle gave this look a bouncy edge. Plus the sheerness of this Ulyana Sergeenko dress was a good choice as well. Need your own pucker sleeved dress?

6. Biker Boss!

A leather biker jacket powers up any look! The trend is old but it’ll always be in vogue. Kangana is walking her way right with her Balmain jacket, Dolce & Gabbana white tee with print, black jeans and Jean Paul Gaultier black boots. That Tom Ford tote is (almost) too much to carry with this almost all-black look. Get your black biker jacket here:

7. Geek Peek

Again it’s not a look everyone can rock but she’s styled it just right. Her black dress, black eyewear frame and boots are being balanced by her beige Burberry trench and pink bag. If you’ve started stocking for winters, here’s the trench coat your closet deserves.
