The festive season has kicked off with aplomb and it’s only going to get bigger and better. With the Diwali parties, Navratri escapades and bestie’s shaadis we all need to attend, I am sure you are already scouring Instagram and Pinterest for outfit inspirations. So, to make your life (and mine) easier, I rounded up some cool, classic and unconventional eye make-up looks, that will make sure you will dazzle this festive season, wherever you go!
Glitter eyeliner has been around for ages and I do not think the fad will die down. The best part about this is its versatility. You could use this liner by itself, along with your regular eyeliner or even on a full blown eye look. Jewel tones are totally festive and you MUST have one of these in your make-up bags at all times.
Colour is the way to go this festive season! I am loving how garage door or semi-garage door eye looks are making their way into the make-up circuit. Garage door basically means one eyeshadow colour swiped on the entire lid. This teal vibe will definitely make you look like a phatakdi this season!
To recreate the look: Get the Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow Trio - Peace (Rs 3,450); L'Oreal Paris Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner - Silver (Rs 460)
Rose gold is definitely the IT colour of the season! There is just something regal about the champagne tone. You could either use a translucent version or pile on the glitter to ace the trend.
To recreate the look: Get the Makeup Revolution Golden Sugar 2 Rose Gold Ultra Professional Blush Palette (Rs 1,148); Lakme Absolute Precision Liquid Liner (Rs 333)
This one I am absolutely in love with. I am not a person who likes to experiment with colour, but this version of a sunset smokey eye is definitely getting my vote. The best part about this look is, you don’t even need to limit yourself to orange, you could experiment with blush tones to sky blue colours.
To recreate the look: Buy the Makeup Revolution Iconic Smokey Palette (Rs 1,013); The Face Shop Triple Eye Shadow - 01 Orange Nuance (Rs 595)
This smokey eye look is perfect for the festive season. You could either amp up the smoke with more black or keep it subtle with brown. If you’re going for a more glam vibe you could also add some glitter.
Here’s a twist on a normal cat-eye. If you are feeling adventurous, find a contrasting shade to your outfit or a bold shade like this red and draw on your wing tip. To make the colour pop even more (especially if you’re using something that’s lighter), draw the wing tip with a white eyeliner first and then follow it up with your colour.
To recreate the look: Inglot Colour Play Eyeliner (Rs 950)
You can’t go wrong with a classic winged eyeliner. The best part about this look though is that you can dress it up or dress it down depending on the occasion.
To recreate the look: Get the Nykaa Get Winged! Sketch Eyeliner - Black Swan 01 (Rs 450)
For a little subtle glam, just go for a glowy skin look. For the eyeshadow, add glimmer pigments or a shimmer base closest to your skin colour all over your eyelid and then just dust gold eyeshadow in the inner corner of your eyelid smudging it halfway.
To recreate the look: Get the Maybelline New York Color Sensational Diamonds Eye Shadow (Rs 460); Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay In Place Eye Shadow Base (Rs 1,850)
This is a no-brainer. Festive and gold goes hand in hand, and while we all love a gold eyelid, you could play it up a bit more by adding larger glitter pigments in the shade for a more pronounced festive eye look.
To recreate the look: Buy the Colorbar Feel The Rain Twinkling Glitter - Drippy 01 (Rs 500); Colorbar Ultimate Eye Liner (Rs 440); Maybelline New York Volum Express Hyper Curl Mascara (Rs 293)
This one is a little unconventional when it comes to festive looks, but it has my attention because of the trend that we have going around. It is all about the highlight this season and you could frost your eyelids for the exact same look. It is a unique look, subtle but still calls for attention.
