Because here, we give you a guidebook to get the highly instagrammable wavy tousled hair to feign that #IWokeUpLikeThis hair flip.

Step 1 – Start with damp hair

Step 1 tousled hair - damp hair

Start with slightly damp hair – even if it is second day hair, just spritz some water on your mane. Then blast dry it as you run your fingers through your tresses, instead of a brush. Do not forget to apply some serum or mousse to avoid any frizz.

Step 2 – Texture is important

As you already know, for this look to create waves (pun intended), your hair’s texture is very important. So divide your almost dry hair into 2 sections, and tie 2 loose braids securing the ends with a rubber band. Now spritz on some sea salt spray and let it sit for a few minutes.

Step 3 – Curl them up!

Step 3 tousled hair - curl hair

Open up those braids and then divide these 2 sections into 4, basically divide each section into a top section and a bottom section. Use a 1 inch curling iron to curl your hair in small sections, alternating in between curling towards your face and away from your face. Leave a little bit of the ends out of the curl so you can get that effortless wispy look.
