Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive 2017, just lowered it curtains but not before it gave us some amazing shows, gorgeous fashion looks and of course a chance to gawk at our favourite celebs. This year in terms of beauty, the fashion week saw a lot of common threads. Most designers seemed to be celebrating natural hair and dewy faces were also high up there on the IT list. Here are a few hair and makeup trends that we spotted at the Winter/Festive leg of LFW that made us do a double take.
The label 431-88 by Shweta Kapur saw flaunted this fun and flirtatious take at the fashion week.
Ritu Kumar’s show saw a celebration of natural hair with models and the showstopper Disha Patani sporting tight and loose curls.
Trust Masaba to up the quirk factor with coiffed curled bangs and a special almost heart shaped inner corner highlight on the eyes.
Lashes have always been a crowd favourite and Chola decided to amp it up with some spider variants on the bottom lash line.
Akaaro went rustic as the models sported a deeper base tone with metallic shimmer detailing in the centre of the face to create a seamless jewel toned shadow and of course tribal inspired micro braided hair.
Inspired by Dorothy’s ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz, makeup artist Donald Simrock gave the models for the Shruti Shanker show a textured red glitter lip look. He added slight shimmer details to the eyelids but kept the hair and the rest of the makeup pretty understated.
Anavila brought the rock and roll to her otherwise understated vibe, with teased hair and the baby hair or bangs slicked down to perfection with dramatic kohl rimmed eyes.
Neha Agarwal’s show saw the beautiful Chitrangada Singh (what can she NOT look good in?!) sporting some tight crown braids with curls and tribal face tattoos.
Urvashi Joneja’s models counterbalanced the outfits with a pop of colour on the eyelids with a seamlessly blended yet defined two toned eyeshadow look.
Sailesh Singha’s show had models opting for hair from the 50s and 60s. The makeup was fairly understated with a little bit of gloss to the lids and imperfect sheer berry lips.
Just like his beautifully quirk-tastic collection, Manish Arora’s models sported over the top honeycomb buns with different hair accessories. While the makeup was popping, what popped, even more, were the super fun face tattoos.
Showstopper Kalki Kochelin sported an avant garde graphic, boxed eyeliner look along with straight glossy hair.
Models at the Splash Fashions show were seen with slicked down bangs and garage door lids, with the silver eyeshadow going all the way up to the eyebrows.
The celebration of natural hair continued as Dia Mirza had on some amazingly voluminous tight curls and berry lips as she took the ramp for Faabiiana.
As raw as his label, Sanjay Garg had his models in low sleek buns with uneven but heavily kohl rimmed eyes.
The finale by Manish Malhotra saw crimped hairdos, with slicked roots and crimped ends along with the classic red lip.
