Less is more – we all of heard of this, right? And, ladies, we really swear by this ideology, as far as makeup goes. Working on just your eyelashes can make for one stunning look and one that is so on-point these days. Start with using an eyelash curler to give your lashes that curled out and open look. Next, use a primer on your eyelashes which will make each of them stand out and be ready for proper application of your mascara. After this, apply your mascara starting at the base, and moving your way up. You can repeat this by adding as many extra coats of mascara as you like. About 2-3 coats should do the job. Follow this by swiping on a clear lip gloss and you’re all set with a minimalistic but stunning look, perfect for the day out or even a dinner with the girls.

2. Winged eyeshadow wonders

When we saw this look of Deepika Padukone at Festival De Cannes this year, we knew it will be a trend that the world would take to. Oodles of that emerald green eyeshadow is all you need to make this a winning look. Extend it outwards in a V-shape to give it a winged appearance and to add all the drama to your look. Be it a cocktail evening or night-out with you gang – this look will not disappoint, we promise!

3. Ombre lips all the way

A bold lip shade or not, this way of doing up your lips is extremely eye striking, to say the least. To give your lips a fuller look, go for ombre lips. Here’s how to go about it – if you’re going for the red family of shades, pick any lipstick in that colour that you fancy and one more in a slightly lighter shade than the previous one. Apply the darker one all over your lips, and the lighter one just at the centre. This will make your pout look stunning in those selfies, ladies.

4. Radiant and au naturale

Take it from us, ladies – this simple look is one that is sure to make heads turn. For a soft, radiant look, start by using a mixture of your primer and foundation all over your face. Use a soft lip colour (preferable a nude shade) and a peach-ish blush on the apples of your cheeks. Use a white eye pencil for your waterline and tons of mascara, to make your eyes pop. Finish up with a highlighter on your cheeks, right below you brow bone and on your cupid’s bow. This will add that dewy, wet look on your face that looks gorge! You’ve got to try it to believe it.

5. Glitter game strong

Glitter eyeliners are all the rage these days. Applying these is no different than how you use your normal liner though. Our suggestion is that you let your eyes do all the talking, and go for a nude shade on the lips and a very subtle tint on the cheeks. This way, all the attention will be on your eyes, and isn’t that just what you want?

6. Bronde hair for the win

The brown and blonde mix of hair colour looks equal parts elegant and glam. It’s not too OTT and is a hair look that’s perfect for the Indian skin tone. Ask your hairstylist to do some streaks on the inner section of your hair so you can choose the two colours that look best on you. This style will require you to select one blonde-ish shade and one brown one, and alternate streaks will be done with these two shades. This will not only give an illusion of thicker hair, but also lend a very summery vibe to your mane.

7. Offbeat lippers, anyone?

This one’s a no-brainer. When you use a not-so-common lip colour, you go easy and minimalistic on the eyes. You can pick from deep wines, ash greys and violet lip shades to be the attention grabber wherever you go. This trendy look is complete once you apply a generous amount of mascara on your lashes. We suggest you go for this look for an evening occasion.

8. Monochromatic mania

Whoever said that both, plum coloured lips and eyes would look too gaudy! The monochromatic look, which basically means the same colour on the lips and eyes (and sometimes on the cheeks too), is a beauty trend that’s here to stay. All you have to do is match your eyeshadow and your lip colour, and you’re good to go. Choose your favourite colour wisely though. Peaches and pinks for those with light complexion, and wines and berry shades for those with dusky complexion should work their magic!

9. Sculpted and sexy

Contouring and highlighting is one trend that has taken the beauty world by storm! And given how it transforms your look, it sure is one technique that deserves a shot. Pick a contour and highlight palette or stick suited to your skin tone and use the darker shades in areas that should appear sunk-in – below your cheekbones, the sides of your nose and the outline of your face. The lighter shades should be used in areas that should appear slightly lifted – for example the apples of your cheeks, the centre portion of your chin, the cupid’s bow area and the middle section of your nose. Practice this and watch your look transform!

Big brows look absolutely stunning, and so trendy. Pick a brow pencil to match the colour of your eyebrows and use short, light strokes in the direction of the hair growth to fill in those brows. This will give your face more definition and complete any and every makeup look that you go for.
