Kabir and I met through a dating app and our profiles matched. We never really spoke to each other for around six months even after being matched. We both were on a holiday when we started chatting and very soon we got pretty comfortable with each other. During the entire duration of the holiday we were speaking to each other and our desire to meet each other also increased. We wanted to meet as soon as we got back.
We were in the same college but we didn't want to meet in college for the first time. I still remember it was the 13th of January, a chilly day in Noida and we met in a hookah cafe. We both hung out for a while and kept talking endlessly. After that, we also went for a drink and met every day for the next three days. On the third day, he went down on one knee and proposed to me in the middle of a busy road. Everything was happening so fast and it was kinda unreal for me to fall in love with someone so quickly. I, of course, said yes and we kissed in the middle of the road. Everything was going well, but things changed rather too quickly and I didn’t see that coming at all.
He started ignoring me soon after and it felt like we were not on the same page. I was really confused. He wasn’t coming to college nor was he meeting me as frequently as he used to. Even though we were taking night outs together once in a while, he never kept his word or the promises he made. We started having constant fights and a lot of time was lost breaking up and patching up.
It was a Friday when I took a night out from the hostel and we spent two days together. We partied, got drunk, laughed, chilled and had sex. But right after that night, everything changed. I called him, not once but time and again. He had stopped taking my calls and stopped responding to texts, WhatsApps or even my voice notes. I called his friends and even they didn’t answer.
I kept trying till I got an answer. He finally picked up. By this time, I was already crying. He picked up and said nothing at all. In fact, he kept talking to his friends and I could hear their conversations. I WhatsApped him again and all he said was, ‘F*ck you, it’s over’. After that day, he never called, messaged or did or said anything to me. He made such big promises when we were together but they all went down the drain. I thought I will find love through a dating app but he only tricked me and left me. Whatever it was, it will always have a special place for him in my heart.
