A Quick & Easy Way To Make Shahi Tukda At Home!

If you have a sweet tooth, then Shahi Tukda is a must try! It is an Indian sweet dish which originates from Hyderabad, Telangana. Popularly known as ‘double ka meetha’, this dessert recipe is SO easy to make! Don’t want to take our word for it? Watch this video to give your friends and family a sweet surprise. *Wink*

To make Shahi tukda, all you need is:

For the Rabri:

– 3 cups milk

– 3 tbsp sugar

– 3 small elachi, seeds crushed

– 4-5 saffron strands

For the sugar syrup:

– 1/4 cup sugar

– 1/4 cup water

– 4-5 saffron strands

– 3 tbsp ghee

– 5 slices of bread, cut into half

– chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions:

– In a large saucepan, boil milk until it reduces to half. Stir occasionally. This will take about 20-25 minutes.

– Add sugar, elachi seeds and saffron strands and cook for another 5-10 minutes. Let the mixture cool and refrigerate.

– In another saucepan, heat sugar and water until the sugar melts completely. Add saffron strands and let the syrup cook until it thickens into a thread-like consistency. This should take about 5-7 minutes. Set aside the syrup.

– In another pan, heat ghee and fry the halved bread slices until they’re golden brown. Place them on a tissue paper to get rid of extra ghee.

– Pour sugar syrup onto the bread slices, followed by the chilled rabri. Garnish with chopped nuts!
