#MyStory: How My Life Became A Fairytale When I Met *Him*

Like every girl, I too, wanted to have my own fairytale. I never knew if that was possible or not, but I did want to feel special, fall head over heels in love with someone and feel super loved and great!

In the last two years, many guys had approached me and I had quite a few things in common with a lot of them…  But it just never clicked with any of them. And that’s when I thought, I am always going to be single and not going to have my own fairytale, ever. I stopped believing in the fairytale as I thought it only happened in movies and books and not in real life.

It was our Alumni meet in college and one of my seniors, Gagan, called me to help him that day. I wasn’t in the mood to go, but went anyway because I had nothing constructive to do at home. The same day, there was a book launch as well. I thought some old guy will come and give a speech and I was definitely going to get bored. So, I skipped the book launch and went out with my friends instead.

I was talking to one of my seniors, Rahul sir. I knew him from the first day of college and we were having a serious conversation about my career when a random guy interrupted us and ruined the conversation. I asked Rahul sir to meet me for lunch for as I really thought he could help me with my career. He agreed to meet me. It was Christmas and we had decided to meet for lunch. But instead of going out for lunch, he invited me and a couple of other seniors to his place.

The guy who’d interrupted our conversation, Ashish, was also there and he kept talking… Non-stop! He was smart, good-looking and well-dressed, no doubt. I was looking at him, he was cute, but I didn’t let it show that I was noticing him. I got to know later that he was the guy who’s book launch I’d skipped. We sort of interacted that day and he gave me a signed copy.

I started reading his novel and just because I wanted to talk to him, I finished his book in four hours. I took his number from a friend and texted him… ‘Hello, sir! Meera this side… I started reading your book and I couldn’t put it down… It is beautifully written!’

He promptly replied, ‘Wow, thank you so much Meera. After completing the book do drop your review on Amazon.’ And after that I started questioning him more about his book… That’s how we started talking and got really close. It was just so good to talk to him.

It was the last day of the year, I used to tease him that he should get committed to the one who messages him all day on WhatsApp, his fan following. He told me to find someone for him and I sent him a couple of photos, finally sending mine. And he said, ‘Yes, I like this girl’. I asked him if he was joking and he said, he wasn’t.

It was beautiful. That weekend he came to meet me from Delhi. I told him that I’ll receive him. When I saw him, I was confused. What should I do? He read that awkwardness on my face I think so, we simply shook hands and I dropped him to the hotel.

After that we had lunch and then in evening, we went to my favourite spot which he also liked. It was a very soothing place… The sun was setting, the birds were chirping, the clouds were changing their colours and right in that moment he leaned towards me and we had our first kiss. It couldn’t have been more beautiful than that, it was like a dream coming true. I always wanted to have a kiss like that, like the ones in fairytales.

Internal how i found the love of my life

We had a night out in Mussoorie. I had never been to Mussoorie in the night before that. It was so beautiful, there were lights all over the hills… The moment was so perfect. I felt like my fairytale was coming true. That’s how I found the love of my life, finally!

I thought of all the moments we had together and that was beyond perfect. Once again I started believing in fairytales, all because of him. Now, I have my own a fairytale. It’s been two months and nothing has changed, I want to be in this fairytale forever.
