Favourite Lipstick – Lakme 9 to 5 Matte Lipstick – Maroon Match

For someone who prefers wearing light-coloured lip shades, this Lakme 9 to 5 Maroon Match was the perfect shift from subtle to bold-coloured lip shades. I just love this pretty maroon colour and it suits my skin tone. So, on days when I am running late, or I just don’t feel like dressing up, I put on this lipstick and I am good to go. The colour stays on for long hours, and that’s pretty amazing. This lipstick is definitely value for money!

Favourite Lipstick – Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream – 35

I was shopping at one of the Beauty Centers in Bombay the other day, and I met a fellow customer there who suggested that I choose this lip cream. I’m usually picky with brands, but this one was different. The packaging was pretty and for the price, it was a steal! The creamy texture feels like butter on the lips, and the shade manages to stay on my lips for a good 6-7 hours, sans any touch-ups. Whether it’s for college or everyday use, this is something worth picking up.

Favourite Lipstick – Nykaa So Matte – Cranberry Sangria

I recently bought this lipstick from Nykaa’s matte collection and I have to say I am not disappointed. Initially, I thought the shade would be too dark for my skin but it seems to go well for me. Though it’s not as matte as I would have expected it to be, it stays on for a long time without constant re-application and I am glad. Whether it’s an office day or a party later, I always keep this one by my side!

Favourite Lipstick – Meilin Non Transfer Lipstick – Rainbow

I came across this brand when I was in college and it has been one of my favourite lipsticks since then. It glides onto the lips smoothly and the best part is, it’s long-lasting and hardly requires any kind of touch-ups. I find this shade perfect for parties as it’s a bit bright and adds colour to my entire look.

Favourite Lipstick – Maybelline Colour Sensational Lip Gradation – Fuchsia

I have been a big fan of matte lipsticks for a really long time but most of the lipsticks I tried used to dry out too soon. Then I came across this lip shade which is like a creamy matte. It’s so light that you won’t even know it’s on and it does not fade at all! It also comes with a sponge smudger which can lighten the tint as per my preference. Whether it’s a date or just a casual dinner with my girlies, I always keep this lifesaver with me.

Favourite Lipstick – Faces Go Chic – Mulberry Slush

This was my first lipstick from Faces and I absolutely love it! It is my fave so far because it’s super smooth, totally non-sticky and well pigmented. I specifically love this colour because it is bold yet not ‘in your face’ flashy. I intend to experiment with more colours from this brand, and while I do that, you should totally go get yourself one of these. Psst…It won’t burn a hole in your pocket. Promise!

I bought this shade before Christmas last year, and I love it. It is long-lasting and makes your lips pop and how! The shade is also quite versatile and I have worn it during nights out and afternoon brunches. It has always helped me make quite the statement every single time.

Favourite Lipstick – Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick – Burgundy

I got this Sugar Smudge Me Not Liquid Lipstick because of my Fab Bag subscription. When I tried it on, I was totally amazed! It glides onto your lips very smoothly, though you might need a lip liner to smoothen out the edges. The shade is perfect for my skin tone and you can feel the liquid drying up and going matte a few seconds after applying. It stays on ALL day long. You definitely need a lot of makeup remover to take it off at the end of the day.

Favourite Lipstick – Miss Claire Soft Matte Lip Cream – 01

Matte lipsticks and I go wayyy back! I have somehow never enjoyed wearing creamy lipsticks. I chanced upon the Miss Claire Lip Creams during my college days, and trust me, I’m so glad I did! Super affordable, amazing texture and a great range of colours. The shade 01 is a bright blue-based pink. It looks perfect on fair to medium skin tones, and is quite inexpensive. I especially love wearing it to shaadis with my ethnic wear!

Favourite Lipstick –  Lakme Absolute Lip Pout Cream – Orange Tease

I have, what would be described as, a typical dark skinned Indian skin tone. And it is SO hard to find lip shades that actually look good on me. Because of this reason, it took me years and years to actually get comfortable wearing lipsticks. All through my college years I stuck to simple tinted lip glosses. Now that I’ve gotten comfortable prettying my pout, I’m constantly experimenting with new shades. Lakme’s Absolute Lip Pout Cream in Orange Tease, is my favourite. It glides on easily and has an amazing creamy finish. Though, I have to admit, it needs to be reapplied once or twice a day. Also, it’s a shade that would be ideal for a lighter skin tone – but who really plays by those rules anymore?

So, girls, which colour did you like best?
