Let’s all admit that we wouldn’t really care so much about the latest xXx movie if it wasn’t our girl crush Deepika Padukone’s first Hollywood venture. In fact, I haven’t even seen the first 2 parts of the movie franchise, so I’m guilty as charged. The super fast-paced action flick does have some great moments but on a whole, isn’t really going to be making waves. You can blame a predictable plot, bland dialogues and the confusingly high-speed pace of the film for that. But what (or who) is definitely noteworthy in the flick is our very own Deepika who made sure that you sit up and take notice of her. Here are 10 thoughts EVERY girl had while watching Deepika in xXx: Return Of Xander Cage!
1. Thank God she didn’t fake an American accent!
Sure, for many, her accent may sound a bit too ‘Indian’, but DPad gives zero f*cks about her South Indian accent, even when acting in an international flick. You go, girl!
2. What dialogue delivery!
Not to go all movie-critic on you, but I was impressed! She really has come a long way from her Om Shanti Om days!
3. The bad girl look *really* suits her!
From Mastani to badass bitch dressed head-to-toe in black and covered in tattoos. It’s official, she really does look good in anything!
4. So leather shorts and over-the-knee boots are her idea of relaxed, casual?
Was anyone else confused by her wardrobe of choice for staying inconspicuous on an exotic island? Nonetheless, she sure did look hot!
5. Can we just take a moment to appreciate those abs?
We really couldn’t take our eyes off Deepika’s killer hot bod! Those abs inspired us to renew our gym membership.
6. I’m going to start wearing red lipstick again…
In case you’ve graduated to pinks and darker shades, Deepika’s signature red pout in the flick will make you want to reach for your sexiest red lippie again!
7. She can throw down better than the guys!
She can draw a knife faster than the blink of an eye, kick high enough to inspire you to join that kickboxing class and operate complex tracking systems better than the rest – Deepika is one femme fatale who leaves a lasting impression. It will make you wonder why she’s hardly done any action films before, she’s SO good at kicking butt!
8. Don’t you want that black dress she’s wearing with the slits?
Vin Diesel skiing through a jungle and riding a motorcycle that turns into a boat (a boatercycle?) aren’t the only things that will stay with you after the movie is over. We’re starting a hunt for that simple but sexy black dress DPad is wearing on the beautiful island in the Philippines. Don’t you want it for your next beach vacay?
9. Wonder what Ranveer’s thoughts are about that steamy kiss?
Also, wondering what it would be like to kiss someone as beefy and macho as Vin Diesel!
10. With a multi-starrer cast, Deepika really stood out and aced the role.
The girl’s really done us proud. She’s played the role of the badass Serena with ease and confidence, it isn’t easy to stand out amongst such a varied cast but she managed to do it with charm. Dippie’s sizzling performance and signature grace really does shine through in the film, we won’t be surprised if Hollywood offers start pouring in for her. We couldn’t be more proud!
