2. Sex And The City (2008)
We loved the series and this movie was no different! A story of four girls who met in New York - the city of dreams, as single girls in their early twenties two decades before the film starts. Besides the fact that the film is studded with glamour, it goes beyond fashionable costumes. Sex And The City will make you rethink relationships and friendships in a positive way!
3. Breakfast At Tiffany’s
We all know about the concept of the ‘little black dress’. Its origin can be traced to this iconic film. Not just that, the film also revolutionized the concept of a dress. In those days, empire waist dresses were most commonly worn. Apart from the beautiful black dress by Givenchy that Audrey Hepburn has worn in the film, there is a lot more to take back from the movie! The film is about the life of a young New York socialite (Hepburn) from a third person perspective.
4. Confessions Of A Shopaholic
The uber fashionable Rebecca Bloomwood is a charming girl from New York who works as a financial journalist and writes about how to manage your finances well. Well, she has a slight problem. She doesn’t really practice what she preaches and lives to spend! Drowning in debt with an unglamorous job, Rebecca’s ultimate goal is to write for a fashion magazine. But as she grows closer to her goal, she starts to rethink her ambitions. The film also draws light on subject that isn’t talked about too often - bad financial management!
5. The September Issue

6. Me Before You
You must be wondering why this one’s in the list, right? Although Me Before You is not primarily about fashion, but for anyone who is wishing to seek some creative fashion inspiration, Louisa’s (Clarke) outfits in the film are no less than a visual delight! A splash of colours and combinations of stripes and prints - all done to perfection. If you’re thinking of experimenting with your style and play around with prints, this movie is a must watch!
A comedy-drama film, Aisha is about a girl who believes that she’s fit for match-making. Especially in her friend circle. With Sonam Kapoor as the main lead and Pernia Qureshi as the stylist for the film, we don’t even have to say how high on glamour this movie is! But the film has more to offer than just oodles of style, it teaches us that love does not come by force.
8. Dior And I
The film follows the journey of Raf Simons, the then Creative Director of the House of Dior, who took the top spot at the design house and pulled back the company from losses into a highly profitable position. The film maps the way Simons designs, thinks, pursues and creates new collections, one after the other. From tense moments before the show to set designs and the audience cheering for the designer's first collection, which was a complete sell-out, the film is a beautiful story about how the legendary design house has grown.
9. Coco Before Chanel
It is said that stories that have humble beginnings are often the best. This film tells the story of Gabrielle Chanel, also known as Coco Chanel. From growing up in an orphanage to becoming a seamstress, milliner, to a dressmaker and then finally establishing her own design house, the story is nothing but inspiring. The role is depicted fabulously by Audrey Tautou. The film has the backdrop of pretty clothes everywhere that makes for a captivating watch, even if you're not a fashion enthusiast!
Last but not the least, Madhur Bhandarkar’s Fashion had to be on our list. Fashion was amongst the very first films of its kind.
