We have known Sonam Kapoor as Bollywood’s very own fashionista, and there’s no doubt about that. Recently, she knocked the ball out of the court with her article “I Didn’t Wake Up Like This”, and we must say we’re very impressed by her. A couple of days ago, she interviewed her brother Harshvardhan Kapoor for Film Companion. After discussing Harshvardhan’s upcoming movie Mirzya they went on to discuss Sonam and her time in Bollywood.
When Harshvardhan said that Sonam has become more free with her career choices after Neerja, Sonam immediately told him that he was wrong! She said “as a woman in this industry, I don’t get my price. I’m still having difficulties getting projects off the floor.” She said that the amount of money John and Varun got for Dishoom is way more than what she and Kareena are getting for Veere Di Wedding. She finds the difference between the amount paid to men and women in the film industry disgusting, and we totally agree with her. She also pointed out that it’s a patriarchal society, and there’s a lot of sexism. Her interview is a must watch, we’re loving Sonam a bit more after watching her brutally honest interview!
