9 Tips To Have Honeymoon-Ready Hair Without Much Styling!

9 Tips To Have Honeymoon-Ready Hair Without Much Styling!

Your honeymoon is not the time and place for excessive hair styling, right? There’s going to be so much to see and do! So how do you, as a happy honeymooning bride, make sure that your hair behaves and looks fab in all the photographs, with minimal use of styling tools and products? We tell you how!

1. Towel Dry… But Correctly

1 honeymoon hair care - towel drying

As it so happens, towel drying your hair may actually do more harm than good. The fibres in most towels can leave your hair frizzy. Moreover, tying a towel turban to get rid of excess water from your hair can actually tug at your roots and weaken them. We suggest you let the hotel towels be and invest in a special microfiber hair towel for your honeymoon to dry your hair perfectly before stepping out!

2. Use A Wide-Toothed Comb

To get rid of tears and tangles after washing your hair, use your fingers instead of a comb. After your hair is about 50% dry, use a wide-toothed comb to detangle it gently. Start from the ends and make your way to the roots to prevent breakage. We suggest you don’t use fine combs while your hair is wet as that can weaken the roots and lead to hair breakage.

3. Serum Styling

When on your honeymoon, where you don’t have a lot of time to style your hair and use too many products, a smoothing serum is what you need. After washing your hair, to stop it from becoming too frizzy, use a smoothing serum on it. It’ll help make your hair glossier while protecting it from the sun and pollution.

4. Get The Perfect Curls

Worried about managing your curls while on vacation? Don’t sweat it. After washing your hair, use a curl-defining leave-in cream to give your curls some bounce and cut down on the frizz. Your honeymoon hair will definitely look on-point!

5. Sleep It In

Don’t want to waste your mornings doing your hair? Why don’t you try sleeping on it after a late night shower and wake up with gorgeous waves? You can braid your semi-wet hair, make a bun or even twist and tie it before you hit the bed. This will also keep your hair out of the way while you…*ahem*…attend to other business.

6. Use Tried-And-Tested Products

Sometimes we leave our cocktail of shampoos and conditioners at home while going on a vacation, knowing that the hotel will provide hair care products. That, however, may not be the best idea in the world. If you have a hair care product that you swear by, carry it with you. Your hair may not react well to new products – and that’s the last thing you want to worry about on your honeymoon!

7. Goodbye To Greasy Hair

You may or may not find the time to shampoo your hair every third day to get rid of the oil and grease. In such a scenario, use a dry shampoo to bid goodbye to grease! A dry shampoo is a must-have in your honeymoon beauty kit and is a hair care essential!

8. Experiment With Easy Styles

A lot of hairstyles don’t require excessive styling. If you want to give your heat styling a miss, try new braid styles, twisting and pinning your hair back, cute scarves and hair accessories and messy buns – they all look fabulous and don’t require too much time!

9. Pack Your Straightener… Just In Case!

And finally, even if you don’t want to go in for too much styling, carry your straightener along. You never know when you might have to deal with hair emergencies! Straightened hair really cuts down on the frizz and that in turn will ensure you look honeymoon-pictures-ready always!
