“As a recently graduated college student, I still keep the price in mind while shopping and Westside is honestly, a one stop shop for me when it comes to Indian wear. They have kurtis, kurtas, skirts, ethnic dresses and palazzo pants at a considerably cheaper rate. Not just that, the quality is great too! What I am wearing right now cost me just Rs 699 and is a very comfy cotton which doesn’t make me want to rip it off on a sunny day in Delhi. For my regular day-to-day Indian wear I love simple, fresh and affordable Westside pieces!”- Isheeta Sharma, Lifestyle Writer

“Apart from the adorable earthy skirt that I’m wearing, I’ve picked up quite a few pretty Indian outfits from Ethnicity. The price is reasonable and the quality is good too. You instantly feel comfortable and amazing when wearing their clothes. Also, since I usually wear an XS, I have no complains with this brand. Minor alterations and it fits me perfectly. It has something for every body type and it makes design and quality a priority.” – Sharon Alphonso, Lifestyle & Beauty Writer

3. Mix & Match In Cottons

“When it comes to Indian wear, I prefer buying the cloth and getting the clothes custom made. But there is one brand that I ALWAYS go back to, and that is – Cottons. From the simplest of kurtis to the prettiest prints, there isn’t a single thing you won’t find there! I love playing mix and match with their kurtis and the palazzos/ patialas from my collection. “My love for dupattas is never ending and Fabindia offers exactly what I need. I’m wearing a chanderi silk dupatta in the picture and it’s my favorite pick from all the clothes that I own from this brand. Other than dupattas, I have skirts, kurtis, anarkalis and even a sari from Fabindia. The fabric is ALWAYS genuine and even though I feel it’s a bit expensive, it’s totally worth the money. Fabindia is my all time favorite brand when it comes to Indian wear.” – Shivani Shrivastava, Trending Writer

5. Anokhi Sense Of Style

5 brands for ethnic wear

“My obsession with Anokhi started when I first started borrowing my mom’s kurtis to wear to office. Out of the millions that she has, I would always end up picking one that was from Anokhi. And since we’re far from being the same size, they would always be a bit loose for me. Finally, my parents just took me for a shopping spree to Anokhi when they realized I wasn’t going through just another Indian wear phase and I practically bought everything they had in my size! Since that day, I always go to their store whenever I need to shop for casual Indian wear clothes. Their fit, prints and colours are just the best!” – Divya Sharma, Assistant Editor

6. Simply Sabhyata

6 brands for ethnic wear

“Indian wear is my go to when I can’t decide what to wear. I usually get my ethnic wear custom made by purchasing the cloth myself and adding tiny details as per my liking but when I do buy ready to wear Indian wear, I always go to Sabhyata! It’s a one stop shop for all my desi wear. From pretty prints to traditional detailing, the variety always wins me over! I love their collection of ethnic skirts and short tops!” – Srishti Sabharwal, Fashion Writer

7. Bombay Paisley For The Modern Lady

7 brands for ethnic wear

“A clash of prints, colours and patterns is what I like the most about this brand. I love quirky everything and Bombay Paisley has some of the coolest combinations of traditional prints meets modern silhouettes ever. Even the anarkali I am wearing is made of three different prints in the same colour combinations. It’s a great brand for everyday Indian wear and affordable too.” – Somya Suresh, Senior Writer & Copy Editor

8. Lovely Libas

8 brands for ethnic wear

“I am always on the lookout for simple but stand out kurtis that I can wear to office. Libas always seems to have what I am looking for. I love this red number because it is elegant, simple yet stylish. The red sequins on the red fabric, give it an edge over a regular kurti. It’s not too blingy and yet not too boring. I love pairing it with a black maxi skirt or palazzo pants and sometimes even leggings.” – Manika Parasher, Lifestyle Writer & Copy Editor

“I received this pink kurta from Biba as a Rakhi gift from my brother (I chose it, he just paid for it :P). I had been wanting something in a bright shade for a very long time as I usually wore black and other dark shades. I loved the colour, material and the design. It is a long kurta with bell sleeves and embroidery, plus it’s really comfortable. I love it!”- Apoorva Gupta, Editorial Coordinator
