Your honeymoon period can last forever and you can totally keep the spark alive in your relationship, years down the line too. How, you ask? By never running out of first times and by giving your relationship regular, healthy doses of adventure that keep the fire burning and the love flaming. Here are 10 relationship adventures you must have with him, at least once in your lifetime.
1. Make your own #FollowMeTo series.
Unless you live under a rock, you must have heard about this popular series on Instagram. This couple travels the world, hand in hand, and posts beautiful pictures of their travails. Why not get inspired by them and collect memories and experiences just like this, every few months?
2. Hike up a hill, and live in a secluded cottage.
Hotels located in hill stations give you the option of renting a secluded cottage, with minimum human presence, if you so choose. Just hike up with your lover then, and pretend like no other person exists in this world, other than you two. It’ll bring you two closer like never before.
3. Run a marathon for a cause you both believe in.
Running a mile kicks those happy hormones in and does wonders for your body - this, we know that you know. Imagine, then, how great it would feel to run a marathon with your partner for a cause that you two strongly believe in. Plus the feeling that you’ll get after finishing this run together, will just be amazing.
4. Spend a night under the stars, far, far away from the city.
Drive away from the city, in open spaces where the sky is not polluted with dust and dirt and the stars shine bright, in numbers so many that it looks like the night is lighted up. Make a tent here, lie down outside of it, and gaze at the stars. Rest assured, what you talk about while looking at this sky will be other-worldly.
5. Participate in a dance competition.
It doesn’t have to be a big competition, even a small one would do. All that matters is the competitive spirit which will give you that adrenaline rush to sweat and prepare for it together. Even though you may not win the competition, you will definitely win each others’ hearts.
6. Go for a live concert of a singer/band you two love.
Singing your hearts out, with the crazy energy of so many other people around you will just add a memory to your list that will always make you smile - and you'll also be able to cross it off your bucket list!
7. Swim in the lake, or the ocean.
It’s not the same thing as swimming in a pool. When you swim in a lake, the water flows at its own pace, the surroundings are green, and in this space - it’s just you two, and water for miles around you. But, do be careful that you practise your swimming skills before and know the depth of the place you’ve chosen.
8. Take your pick from ice skating/cliff jumping/rafting/scuba diving.
How could some ultimate adrenaline pumping adventure sports not be a part of this list? Take your pick or do them all, one at a time and the exhilarating feeling will stay with you for long after.
9. Sail on a yacht/cruise ship.
Imagine a ship. Now imagine yourself standing next to its mast with the love of your life beside you, on a starry night, with tiny fish jumping around...sounds romantic, doesn’t it? Oh, this one little moment alone will stay with you for a lifetime.
10. Go three whole days without talking to each other, instead write down whatever you wanted to tell your partner.
Words sometimes create more confusion, than clarity. So let your eyes do the talking, and try to understand him, without him needing to say so. Plus, it’ll be exciting to see what you have written down and want to say to each other after three days of no words spoken.
