Love across borders ain’t easy but everything in our relationship was exceptional and so was our beginning.
Meet Ashmeet Rajpal and Onkar Singh, the vivacious couple who started their journey online, moved to phone conversations and finally met over lunch in Mumbai. “Onkar flew down from Australia to meet me and was 45 minutes late for our very first date!” shares the bride. To kill time at the restaurant, Ashmeet decided to pick up a novel and ordered a glass of wine. “Honestly, the only reason I ordered a glass of wine was to understand his thought process.” And pleasantly enough, Onkar walked in, ordered another glass for himself and raised a toast to a new relationship.
Ashmeet wanted to make sure that each of the wedding functions were exceptional in their own little ways. The engagement night had a selfie corner with fun placards, a photo booth, dhol wallas and an electrifying performance by the family members! “Our guests danced through the night and the it was truly one of the most special nights of my life.”
We love the elegant white and gold three tier cake complete with a love note.
“Vidhi Shah from Super Duper Wedding Company, was my wedding planner who made sure that every detail of my dream wedding was just perfect. I loved every bit of her work!”
How gorgeous is Ashmeet’s golden gown! Designed by Aditya Khandelwal, Delhi, she’s styled it with delicate hair chains and a pair of danglers. Stunning!
For her mehendi ceremony, Ashmeet chose to go floral! From the decor to the giveaways to the bridesmaids floral maangtikkas to her own outfit and jewellery, everything was floral. All the bridesmaids were decked in similar lehengas in different colours for the occasion. How cute!
How pretty is this colourful floral lehenga saree designed by Mumbai-based Saniya Dhyamija!
Ashmeet’s makeup was done by Sanjana Kamlesh Kaur Bandesha. “Sanjana is an absolute gem and I met her at my best friend’s wedding last year in Goa. She was extremely patient while listening to my vision and did a fab job with my makeup.”
These beautiful colourful pictures are giving us all the mehendi vibes right now!
It started with an early morning emotional chuda ceremony followed by the wedding. “I have this major love for kaleeras and incorporated them in my wedding decor too,” shares Ashmeet.
So good to see brides moving away from golds and experimenting with fun new vibrant shades of eyeshadows! Love the purple eyes and bright pink lips!
“Most Sikh brides usually wear salwaar kameez or floor-length anarkalis on their wedding day, but I chose to go with a lehenga instead.”
A wedding lehenga with a trail is not easy to carry off but Ashmeet does it with elan.
It took Ashmeet months to have her dream lehenga stitched. From the design, to the colours, to the work, the bride had a specific wish list for her dream lehenga (with a trail!) that finally came to life by Ranjeet Sarees, Kanpur.
And now for the powerhouse photographers, Priyam and Saurabh from Two Fireflies - One Camera! “They made every picture look so beautiful with different elements to it. I loved how effortlessly they captured every moment without even making their presence felt.”
Big hugs and lots of love to this super cute and much in love couple!
