Your wedding festivities are a week away and you can hardly believe it. With all the last minute prep going on, it’s important to take out time to pamper yourself to ensure you look absolutely beautiful during those few days. We give you beauty tips for the week before your wedding so that nothing can stop you from looking and feeling your best.
1. Up Your Exercise Routine
One-hour-a-day workouts for some last minute toning will help you feel good and chase away any wedding jitters. Those happy hormones will help you stay calm and bring a natural glow to your complexion too.
2. Step Up Your Water Intake
Drinking lots of water is always a good idea. It will help flush out toxins from your body during this week, which will give you clearer and smoother skin.
3. Deep Conditioning Treatments
A hair spa at your salon or an at-home deep conditioning treatment a few days before is a great idea. It will help give you softer, shinier locks. Be sure to stay away from heat styles in the days and even weeks leading up to your wedding as no bride wants fried, dry strands.
4. Exfoliation Is Key
Any girl should step up her exfoliation game. If you’re a bride-to-be, make sure to exfoliate your skin twice in the week leading up to your big day. This will give you a smoother and even canvas for your makeup since it will get rid of any dead, dry and flaky skin.
5. Puffy Eyes Be Gone
If you’re prone to dark circles and puffy eyes then you need to really get in plenty of rest. Also, avoid alcohol like the plague during this week. A cooling eye cream containing aloe vera, caffeine or cucumber should definitely be in your beauty arsenal and you should apply it every morning and night. Keep an eye mask in your freezer and use it on the day of your functions for 10 minutes to instantly wake up your peepers and make them look fresh.
6. Get A Facial
About 6 days before the festivities begin is when you should go in for your last facial. This will give even sensitive skin enough time to settle. A facial will give you brighter, glowing skin in time for your big day. Be sure to stay out of the sun and use sunblock every day.
7. Take A Warm Bath The Night Before
The day before it all begins, keep calm. Take a warm bath to help you relax and also wash your hair. Washing your hair a day before is always advisable as second-day-hair holds any style in place much better. Be sure to go to bed early so you look well-rested.
8. Schedule Your Waxing and Nail Appointments
Waxing (including bikini waxes) and threading should be done 3 to 4 days before the wedding. This way any redness will settle well in time. Don’t change the shape of your brows now, the shape should already have been set in advance. Threading now should just clean and define the shape. Your final mani-pedi should be just the day before the fun begins so you don’t need to worry about your colour chipping.
