Naked dresses are having a major moment in the fashion world… Especially among the select few who can walk the red carpet, while the rest of us mortals watch in awe. While the concept of the “naked dress” has been around for years - Marilyn Monroe and Kate Moss were spotted in near-naked dresses years back - but it was only recently that the term became a hot favourite among everybody.

While celebrities flaunted their bodies in extremely sheer gowns with nothing but jewels on, or with the embroidery carefully crafted to hide only the parts that need to be hidden, we found the concept of naked dressing pretty fascinating. Firstly, it’s damn near impossible to wear that dress anywhere other than on the red carpet, and it’s pretty obvious that the naked dress has more to do with the bodies that they're (not!) hiding than to do with the dress itself!

Beyonce and Rihanna have nailed this trend, and almost broke the Internet and got a lot of cameras going clickety-click when they showed up looking very naked but not risque at many red carpet events. And boy, did they look good! Over time, naked dresses have slowly been modified to make them wearable. These dresses are not bejewelled and sheer, but involve more cut work and lace.

Mira Rajput took this dress out for a spin at Masaba’s reception and looked gorgeous. Other Bollywood celebrities like Sonam Kapoor and Alia Bhatt have also been spotted in beautiful see-through dresses.
