Wandering For Wellness
writes about the different aspects of wellness. But that is not all! The blog is also about her love for exploring exotic cities around the world and her passion for food. Read on to know more about the newest super blogger to join The POPxo Blog Network.
What sparked your interest in fitness, food and travel?
I am a sardarni,
and for all those of you who need an explanation to this, I live to EAT. Food is extremely therapeutic and most of my travels, celebrations, and get-togethers revolve around food, and I'm often navigating menus before I visit restaurants overseas. I love the feeling of immersing myself in a culture that’s unknown. I love travelling to different parts of the world to experience their local cuisines, the nightlife, and to explore the city's secrets often, after befriending locals. There's a real thrill in anonymity, and travelling allows you to grow, learn, and experience a clash of cultures all at once. I do admit that travelling can be very expensive, but it’s the one experience that makes you richer with learning and memories that last a lifetime. If I had to save up for a holiday in Fiji or blow it all up on a bag- I would definitely choose the former. I want to visit Morocco, Croatia, Costa Rica, Fiji, Japan and the Galapagos Islands in the next two years or so. My love for fitness was fuelled by endorphins, and also the fact that I needed to find avenues to burn off all the food I was indulging in daily. I get bored very easily, so need to mix it up to keep seeing changes. I've been a swimmer all my life and I enjoy crossfit, pilates, yoga, swimming, and HIIT. I also love pottering around in the kitchen and feeding people and, so one day, I decided to marry my love for food and wellness with my writing and this is how Wandering for Wellness was born.
What is your personal style statement?
I love resort wear. I'm most comfortable in sun dresses, beach cover-ups, playsuits, and shorts. I love flirty, colorful clothes with a touch of the bohemian vibe. If I could, I would roam around with flowers in my hair. I also love roaming the streets of London, Sydney, and Bali to find unique local designers.
What made you take up blogging?
I've been writing for almost a decade now, and I love documenting my travel, restaurant, and spa experiences with images, videos, and building a story. I worked as a freelancer for a lot of magazines in India and overseas, and that gave me the push I needed to launch my blog.
What would you like to tell all aspiring bloggers?
Stay true to yourself. Choose collaborations and endorsements wisely. Focus on building credibility and a loyal readership, before you think about making money as a blogger.
The POPxo quiz:
1. One beauty/wellness product you swear by:
Coconut oil. I wrote my first POPxo post on the beauty benefits of coconut oil, and I'm still nuts about the coconut. I cook with it, use it to heal burns, wounds, and rashes, and it’s particularly great for dry, scaly skin. I bake with coconut oil, and also drink bulletproof coffee, and add some of this oil into my morning cup of coffee for sustained energy release, and to keep me alert all day.
2. An outfit you could live in for the rest of your life:
My bikinis or workout clothes :P. I love being in and around the pool and spending time in yoga pants, and comfortable, breathable workout wear.
3. Your biggest guilty pleasure:
Over the top spa treatments, dark chocolate, sea salt, and waking up to the sound of the waves crashing against the cliffs.
4. The one trend/style you would NEVER wear:
I've never been able to wear jumpsuits because they don't flatter my body type, or flared jeans because they make me look too skinny.
5. Success is?
Knowing that you couldn't have given it any more than you did because you gave it your best shot. Although highly subjective, success according to me is being recognized as an authority on all things food and wellness, and being able to improve the lives of others with tips, and by sharing my journey.
6. Fame or Money?
Fame and recognition... Money is transient, it comes and goes, but being recognized for doing something you love, that touches the lives of those around you, is far more rewarding than a fat wallet.
7. You look up to?
Ella Woodward from Deliciously Ella, for battling a disease like POTS (postural tachycardia), and healing herself through food, yoga, and exercise. I'm also extremely inspired by wellness warrior and cancer survivor, Kris Carr (author of Crazy Sexy Cancer). Another person is yogini Sadie Nardini for proving to women, that the mind is more powerful than we give it credit for, and the body has the potential to heal itself. Hannah Bronfman, DJ, fitness enthusiast and founder of Hbfit, is also someone I look up to. She's so fit, fierce, and passionate, and motivates me to get out of my bed and do more every day.
8. The ONE thing no one knows about you?
I wanted to be a chef and a travel show host, before I decided to set up Petite Sweet Eats, and started writing and blogging.
9. What is your biggest strength?
To be able to multitask: I'm quite proud and exhausted at the prospect of running three entirely different businesses my baking, nutritional consulting, and writing.
10. If you could be anyone for a day, who would you like to be?
Devin Brugman and Tasha Oakley from A Bikini A Day, because I'm an absolute water baby, and they spend most of the year swimming with pigs in the Bahamas, diving with whale sharks, and spending time exploring the marine life in Fiji. Check out their Instagram feed, and you'll know what I mean. That being said, I would love to live Hannah Bronfman’s life, because she is constantly hanging out with inspiring women in the wellness industry, collaborating with the top fitness giants, taking holidays with her fiancé Brendan, and doing morning yoga and runs by the beach. She understands work-life balance and embraces each day with gusto.
11. How does it feel to be part of the POPxo Blog Network?
It feels amazing to be affiliated with and connected to so many fabulous bloggers from all over the country. I am a member of the health bloggers worldwide network, and the POPxo network is the first of its kind in India. It’s fabulous to be able to be a part of this platform that reaches so many different readers on a myriad of topics. The company has grown exponentially since its inception, and I can't wait to see what it has in store for us.
