Easy Makeup Tricks To Make Your Eyes Look Bigger!

Easy Makeup Tricks To Make Your Eyes Look Bigger!

Big, beautiful eyes are enough to grab attention anywhere you go. Whether you have small eyes or just want your peepers to pop, there a few simple ways to tweak your makeup routine and enhance those baby browns. We give you some super simple tips to make your eyes look bigger and better than ever. Hello, gorgeous!

1. Don’t Line All The Way Around

Most of us do this, but an all-over ring can actually make your eyes look smaller. Instead of applying your kajal on your waterline of your lower lids, apply it just below the lashline instead to help make your eyes appear bigger. If you have eyeliner on top, then don’t line your kajal all the way to the inner corners.

2. White Is Always Right

A white kohl pencil along your lower waterline is amazing for making your eyes look bigger instantly. Also, a bit of white shimmery eyeshadow blended into the centre of your lids acts as a lightbulb for making your eyes look bigger and brighter. Add some white eye shadow like Revlon Colorstay Eyeshadow in Oyster (Rs.195)  in the inner corners as well to really help open them up.

3. Lash Loving

Your lashes play a huge role in helping your eyes look bigger and super mesmerizing. Curl your lashes before applying thin coats of mascara to help open up your eyes. Try one which will help lengthen your lashes like Maybelline Volum’ Express Falsies Mascara (Rs. 500). Avoid mascara on your lower lashes, though, as that can make you look dated and your eyes smaller and tired.

4. Give Tightlining A Try

If you’re a beauty junkie then you’re probably familiar with the term tightlining, which basically means applying eyeliner to the innermost part of your eyelid, instead of on top of it. It’s all about getting it as close to your lash line (or on it) as possible. By lining the base of your upper lash line, it helps cover up the gap between your eyeliner and your lid and enhance your lashes, which makes your eyes appear way bigger. We tell you how to tightline like a pro here.

5. Play With The Thickness

Another eyeliner trick is to give the illusion of perfect almond shaped eyes, by thickening your eyeliner towards the outer corners. Don’t make it too thick at the centre though. By making it thicker towards the edge helps make your eyes look wider and more seductive. It’s such a simple way of notching up your eyeliner game!

6. Get Highlighting

Dark circles have an annoying knack for making your peepers look smaller. Reverse those effects with a highlighter. Try one like Makeup Revolution Highlighter (Rs. 650) or you can also use a pearly eyeshadow for the same effect. Apply it along your brow bone, at the inner corners of your eyes, a touch in the centre of your lids to help light up your eyes, which will help them appear bigger.

7. Even Out Those Dark Circles

Panda eyes are never a good look. You can’t think about making your eyes looking bigger without evening out those dark circles first. Use a creamy, colour-correcting concealer that is a slightly lighter than your skin tone to help lighten and brighten the area. We suggest Lakme Absolute White Intense Concealer Stick (Rs. 500). Apply it under your eyes, around them and on your lids as well and blend to help make the whole area one uniform colour.

8. Consider The Crease

Brushing on a neutral, light brown eye shadow along your crease from the centre of your lid to the outer corners is a quick and easy way for that bigger-is-better effect. Don’t forget to blend it. Maybelline Diamond Glow Eyeshadow Palette in Copper (Rs. 495) is perfect for this. When applying colourful eyeshadow as well, make sure to apply it all the way up to the crease.

9. Colour Yourself Gorgeous

It’s wise to get out of a rut every once in a while and switch your black liner for some colour. Not only will this help your eyes pop but using cooler colours, especially blue eye pencils, can help make the whites of your eyes appear more stark and give an overall bigger effect. Try Coloressence Eyeliner Pencil (Rs. 225). Learn how to rock coloured eyeliner without looking OTT here. Colourful eyeshadows also have the same effect, but avoid matte formulas as they don’t reflect light and aren’t as flattering.
