While red is the go-to lipstick shade for weddings, if you want to step up your beauty game, check out these alternative lip shades. Here are five bridal lipsticks, other than the good ol’ red, that you MUST check out!
1. Subtle nudes
If you’re big on eye make up, then opt for a nude lipstick shade to balance the look. Nudes also go beautifully with outfits which are on the heavier side. Swipe on a soft-hued, long-lasting lipstick shade that’s creamy and has just a hint of sheen.
POPxo Recommends: L’Oreal Color Riche in Fairest Nude, Rs 1,056. Buy it here.
2. Fine wine
A deep, dark wine is about breaking the norm and going all out. Pair a wine lipstick with heavier fabrics in deep colours and keep it exclusively for the winter months. Make sure the rest of your make up is relatively light and skip the gloss when you’re sporting a wine. Deep colours look best when matte.
POPxo Recommends: Lakme Enrich Satin P 140, Rs 260. Buy it here.
3. The pink
The choice you can never ever go wrong with. As long as your lehenga is not red, be free to swipe on a pink lipstick. Choose a shade that goes best with your skin tone and flash that smile for the shutterbugs.
POPxo Recommends: Maybelline Color Sensational Pink Alert, Rs 425. Buy it here.
4. Evergreen browns
A chocolate brown with red undertones is another bridal lipstick we love! Works well for winter weddings and blends with most bridal colours. Outfits in reds, maroons and even deeper shades of pink go beautifully with brown lipsticks. Again, opt for matte and say no to gloss.
POPxo Recommends: L’Oreal Paris Color Riche in Pure Brick, Rs 995. Buy it here.
5. Coral love
Ditch the red altogether! For bridal outfits that are in shades of pink, peache or orange, the coral lip shade works really, really well. And it’s no longer limited to just summer weddings! Coral looks just as good during the colder months! You can go all out with your eye make up without worrying about being OTT.
POPxo Recommends: MUA Makeup Academy Shade 16, Rs 700. Buy it here.
