It isn’t easy to get rid of cellulite once you have it, but there ARE certain things that you can do to aid the process. And you can do them at home!

1. Coffee To The Rescue!

Coffee is undoubtedly the best way to kick cellulite in the ass! (Pun intended!)

A coffee body scrub stimulates circulation to remove cellulite. Caffeine tightens and provides antioxidants to the skin when applied topically. When used regularly over time, it is known to reduce the appearance of cellulite. Coffee combined with coconut oil helps to exfoliate and moisturize simultaneously. The massage and exfoliation benefits skin by stimulating blood/ lymph flow and the caffeine in the coffee has a tightening effect.

2. Dry Brushing

Although this isn’t a scrub, it is just as effective. Use it along with a DIY scrub for maximum benefits.

Dry brushing is simply using a brush to massage and exfoliate your skin before a shower. Exactly as the name suggests, you needn’t use any creams lotions or scrubs. Just invest in a dry brush. This technique exfoliates and gets lymph and blood moving. It is known to be a popular cellulite combatant.

You can use this technique before your coffee scrub for maximum results.

Brush away those unwanted dimples, ladies! Brush lightly in a circular motion on problem areas, or all over your body to reap the full benefits of dry brushing.

3. Coconut Oil + Coffee + Sea Salt / Sugar

This easy Coconut Oil + Coffee recipe is your Holy Grail scrub for cellulite

Step 1: Combine 1 cup of fresh coffee grounds with 6 tablespoons of coconut oil and 3 tablespoons of sea salt or sugar. Sugar is an additional exfoliant that opens and clears pores, allowing them to absorb the ingredients more easily. You can substitute the coconut oil with olive oil too.

Step 2: Mix all of the ingredients together and store in an airtight container. You can even freeze it for longevity.

Step 3: In the shower, apply your scrub to the cellulite stricken areas liberally and massage in circular motions for a few minutes before rinsing. Repeat every time you shower for best results.

4. Coffee + Sugar + Olive Oil + Glycerin + Vit E Oil

The caffeine and antioxidants found in coffee get rid of the free radicals, stimulate blood flow, and improve circulation. Ultimately helping you get smooth firm skin. Olive and Vitamin E Oil help restore moisture to your skin and keep it hydrated. These oils are also packed full of healthy fats that help to protect your skin and firm it up with antioxidants.

You Will Need:

  1. 2-3 tablespoons of Olive Oil
  2. 1 tablespoon of white sugar
  3. 1 teaspoon of Glycerin
  4. 2 teaspoons of Vitamin E (Oil or capsules)
  5. Half a cup of ground coffee

Step 1: Whip up all the ingredients in a big bowl. Once combined store in an airtight container.

Step 2: Have a nice hot shower and apply the scrub to the areas you have cellulite. Massage in gentle circular motions for a couple of minutes and wash off.  

This scrub also doubles up as a cellulite-busting wrap. Simply cover the scrub area with plastic wrap for 10 minutes or longer if you can tolerate it and rinse off without using soap.

Step 3: Moisturize after your shower.

5. Coffee + Avocado + Brown Sugar + Olive Oil

Combining avocado and olive oil is a magical concoction to banish cellulite and deeply moisturize your skin. It’s a win-win!

You will need:

  1. 1 Cup coffee grounds
  2. 1 Cup brown sugar
  3. 1 ripe avocado – mashed up
  4. 1 Teaspoon of olive oil

Step 1: Combine fresh coffee grounds with brown sugar, a mashed avocado and a tablespoon of olive oil  in a bowl and mash to get a scrub-like consistency.

Step 2: Take a nice hot shower and apply the scrub onto the cellulite areas in circular motions. Leave on for 15 minutes and then rinse off with cold water. Don’t forget to moisturize after!

6. Coffee + Coconut + Cinnamon + Sugar

Cinnamon plumps the skin, prevents ageing, and improves your complexion. Avocado is rich in Vitamin C & E – both of which work wonders for your skin; it is also a great moisturizer.

You Will Need:

  1. Half a cup of coconut oil
  2. 1 Cup of ground coffee
  3. 1 Cup of sugar
  4. A dash of cinnamon

Step 1: Combine the ingredients and store in an airtight container.

Step 2: Apply the scrub onto the cellulite areas and massage in circular motions and rinse off.

7. Oatmeal + Coffee + Salt + Essential oil

This relaxing spa-scrub is sure to leave you feeling awake and pampered.

You Will Need:

  1. Half a cup of steamed oatmeal
  2. A tablespoon of ground coffee
  3. A tablespoon of. salt
  4. 10-15 drops of essential oils (EO)
  5. 5-6 drops of orange EO, 3-4 drops rosemary EO and 2-3 drops of cinnamon EO.

Step 1: Stir the mixture and apply on the trouble spots.

Step 2: Massage into damp skin for 5-10 minutes and wash with warm water. Do not forget to moisturize after!

8. Aloe Vera + Grapefruit Gel

Grapefruit EO being a citrus-based oil can cause sun damage if applied during the day, so don’t step out for a few afters after trying this scrub. Citrus-based oils can irritate your skin, so patch test it first for safety.

You Will Need:

  1. 100g Aloe Vera Gel
  2. 15-20 drops of Grapefruit Essential Oil

Step 1: Mix well and place this mixture in a dark glass bottle.

Step 2: Massage it gently into affected areas at night until absorbed into skin.
