Today’s Question: I need to throw a bachelorette party for a colleague at work. What boxes do I need to tick?
I am throwing a party at home for a colleague who is going to get married in December. What are the things I should keep in mind?
Answer from POPxo team
This is probably a big deal for your colleague and you can make it even more special by making her bachelorette something to remember. But we all know how much pressure parties come with. Make sure you have a to-do list way in advance. Also ensure you invite everyone she is friends with at work, not just the people in your team (the more the merrier!).
Once you know who the people who’re attending the party are, you can find out what everyone drinks. Some might prefer alcohol, some might want to abstain, some will eat non-vegetarian, others might be vegetarians. You need to maintain a fine balance between every guest preference and make sure everyone feels comfortable.
Next, make sure you sort out a playlist. A party can get very boring with a lot of people who only know each other in a work environment. Good music will get the conversations started and will make sure no one feels awkward or left out.
The last thing you need to make sure is that the bride-to-be feels special. Get her props to wear, a delicious cake and pop some champagne. If she doesn’t drink, arrange for games that everyone can enjoy. Since this party will include your colleagues from work, avoid any kind of wild surprises (wink wink).
And now, for the 2 lucky winners whose answers are better than the one Team POPxo has come up with…
