Fitter And Stronger In Just TWO WEEKS?! Yes, It’s Possible!
It’s been 2 weeks since the POPxo team accepted the Nike+ Training Club Challenge - a 12-week program designed by 6 Nike Master Trainers to get them fitter, stronger and more agile. Into the third week of the challenge, our Delhi girls Gopika E.M and Simar Rana already feel a great change in their fitness levels. From complete rookies to progressive fitness enthusiasts, Gopika and Simar share their experiences and the changes their bodies are going through. The rest of the team is going green with envy…

A 2 week workout designed by Marie Purvis kicked off the challenge.Focused on toning your body, improving posture and increasing speed, these workouts are all about giving you strength and freedom to move better and faster.
The initial 2 weeks were one roller coaster ride! It had to be - I was someone who had NEVER worked out before! I recall beginning the challenge with the 30-second hollow body exercise and the 1-minute side planks (which felt like they lasted a lifetime). But something great has definitely come of it! I understood that I lacked strength and definitely needed to work on my core.
As I progressed, I realized not only did I feel an improvement in resistance workouts, but my movements became stronger as well. In short, I could work out for a longer period of time without all that huffing and puffing! I’m proud to say that I can successfully do that 1-minute plank.
Being a novice, I haven’t completely adapted to using equipment. And the best part about the Nike+ Training Club app is that it consists of numerous workouts without equipment. Traci Copeland’s Vinyasa Rush Studio Workout is one such session I have thoroughly enjoyed. The stretches are certainly making a positive difference to my body. They have also improved my flexibility to a great extent. I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of my journey. I’m super motivated to build my strength, flexibility and resistance even more!

Working out and leading a healthy lifestyle is something I have always tried to inculcate in my life. However, as a result of a busy and rather hectic lifestyle, it became more and more difficult for me to keep up over the past few months. I was too lazy to make my way to the gym in the morning and too tired to go post work. As a result, I got absolutely no exercise and had begun to feel rather unfit. Until one day, I was asked if I wanted to take up the Nike+ Training Club Challenge!
I was definitely a little hesitant at first. Never really having tried working out on my own, I was a bit sceptical if I would actually keep up and go all the way through. But once I started I knew there was no turning back. The precision and detail with which each exercise has been explained makes me feel like I have a personal trainer with me each time! I actually feel motivated enough to reach the next level!
My main aim was to regain my strength, tone up and get a fitter body! At the end of 2 weeks, I am super proud of my progress. I can hold stretches for a much longer time than I could imagine earlier, have a stronger core and can do those squats with the ease of a pro! The difference I see and feel in my body has me charged up to complete my challenge and be fitter than ever!

While our lovely Delhi girls have been super serious about their training (with tons of motivation from POPxo Founder & Editor-in-Chief Priyanka Gill), Lifestyle Writer Sharon Alphonso got her first taste of the NTC challenge in Mumbai.
To get a sense of what the workouts are like, she attended an NTC Live class at Sophia College for Women as part of their annual cultural festival Kaleidoscope. The class was led by NTC Elevated Trainer Urmi Kothari. Over 100 enthusiastic girls from Sophia and other colleges joined Urmi for over 45 mins of training. The event also had product experts from Nike to help the girls out with their basics such as picking the right shoe & apparel for their training needs.
