The Mehras want their son to get married and their daughter to not get divorced. That’s where the story of Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh (the Mehra siblings) begins in what promises to be a romp of a movie about the all-Indian obsession: happy endings within the bounds of shaadi. Enter Farhan Akhtar as the one-that-got-away foil to the to-be-divorced husband of Ayesha; and the spunky Anushka Sharma who’s fascinating Kabir but also running away from him. And not all is well with Anil Kapoor and Shefali Shah (the Mehra parents) either. Now what better way to amp up the drama than to put this boiling pot of a family onto a cruise ship?
Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the Dil Dhadakne Do trailer totally lives up to all the hype and buzz created by the stunning posters that have been cropping up all over our newsfeeds for the past few days. And we have to admit that the movie promises to be a treat for the eyes. Gorgeous people, gorgeous cinematography and a chatpata, masaledar script – we can hardly wait!
