Let’s face it, ladies: the men in our lives sometimes irritate us to the point of senselessness. But there also times when they’re more sensible about a situation than we are - yes, you heard us right! Not convinced? That’s why we’ve put together a list of 5 things women can learn from men...
1. Not Over-Analysing a Situation
Most people will agree women do tend to think about stuff a lot more than men. It’s not that men don’t think - it’s just that they let go of things more easily. Taking a look at the menfolk around us, we’re willing to toy with the idea that we could take some lessons from them on leading a more drama-free life!
2. Not Being So Self-Conscious
Have you seen too many guys feel embarrassed about belching or burping? Us neither! We’re not saying that you should
belch or burp in public (it’s kinda rude!), but the lesson to learn from this is that we don’t need to be super-self-conscious about what we say and do all the time. Neighbour looking at you judgmentally because he saw you throwing out bottles of booze with the trash? Let him. Maid smirking because your boyfriend stayed over? Let her. The truth is that the world will always have an opinion on your doings. There’s nothing you can do to change that. So stop being conscious about it, and live your life how you want to.
3. Learning to Contain Our Emotions
Men, we’ve noticed, are experts at concealing their feelings - to the point that sometimes we can’t for the life us of us understand what’s up! But you know what? Sometimes, it’s good to be self-contained and not let our vulnerabilities show. For instance, if you have a fight with your boss, and you’re upset about it, it’s best not to show that in front of your colleagues and have people gossip. It’s a good idea to have a “poker face” in public - it’s way better to express your feelings in private, in the company of people you trust and love.
4. Not Getting Too Caught Up in the Petty Stuff
Sometimes, we get so caught up in the moment that we tend to drag out a fight way longer than necessary - and it happens to the best of us. It’s not that men don’t fight - they certainly do - but they do tend to have it out right then and there and not carry it over to the next day (or week or month). Letting go of the little things - and fighting for the bigger ones - is a way better idea than turning every argument we have with people into a grudge match. Let’s all just let go...
5. Saying No
Whether it’s because we don’t want to make a scene, or because we’re not comfortable giving people a completely honest opinion, many a time women tend to shy away from being blunt or turning down requests and demands. You can’t please everyone, that’s why you need learn the art of politely saying “no”. It’s completely fine. In fact, men do it all the time!GIFs: Giphy.com
