So my makeup bag
is cluttered with so many things - from multiple eyeshadow palettes to a million little nothings advertising makes you buy. But over the years, I've realised that they're not entirely sold in vain - there are a few trends that needed to be tried and these products help us achieve that dream.
So this month, am looking at 6 beauty trends that are sure to keep your fashion wardrobe super happy - just get off the boring route and try a new look.
1. Super Lashes
My lust for lashes is at an all time high these days. No more am I saving this trend exclusively for glitzy parties
and shoots. It has managed to seep into my everyday life. Though, it is an over-the-top trend and if you’re afraid of fake eyelashes and the glue that comes along with it, don’t fret, just load up on the mascara. And don’t forget to cream your lower lashes heavily too for maximum effect. I think Lancome Hypnose Drama Waterproof Full Impact Volume Mascara
will give you lashes with maximum build - so big, so beautiful!
2. Metal For The #WIN
While I’m especially loving the metallic trend for my toes, it doesn’t quite stop there. Nowadays, it has completely managed to meet face too and I have indulged in gorgeous cream metallic blushers that trick you to dress up an ordinary smokey eye with a silver/gold accent to make it pop. This Diwali, just make sure you apply the eyeshadow of your choice ( gold being the ultimate and bronze being the safest) on the centre of your lid and swipe it beautifully along the lid for a super quick adoption of the metallic trend. The metallic palette in the market is the Smoked Urban Decay Eyeshadow Palette,
try the silver if you can!
3. Blue Hue Madness
This cool hue is having a major moment on the beauty scene right now, starting from a smouldering icy eye to a sophisticated deep navy-blue mani. Try the Colorbar Glide Eye Pencil in Electra
– its worked wonders for me. Though remember to keep the rest of your ace muted so that the blue can stand out. There is no hard and fast rule that only a bright blue will work - go from ombre to navy to dark blue, everything works!
3. Crazy Contouring
Remember that HDR feature on your favourite photo editing app? Contouring is basically that - in reality. Best part? Doesn’t require dishing out tons of moolah to buy a new product – you just need your bronzer and blush
. Create shadows to highlight your best parts (hello cheekbones and jawbone!) and downplay any bad parts like a weak or double chin, a big nose or thin lips. MAC has some amazing blushes that do the job, Desert Rose
is one such. Use it to perfect your look.
4. Powder Pout
Pack up your lipgloss and dedicate your life to finding the perfect lip colour. Basically, its time to push our glossy favourites to the back of our beauty list ( they have been done to death!) and bring on pure long-staying matte colours. Bold, beautiful and mind-blowing lip coverage! My pick: Any of the Chanel lipsticks - especially the Rouge Coco
5. The ‘No Makeup’ Look
selfie brought along a wave of a beauty trend in itself. This season saw models strutting down the runway sans evident makeup aka bare minimum of products and styling. Translated: Skip the mascara and liner, instead using makeup to barely cover flaws and leave the rest to your confidence. Your biggest help here is the Benefit Fake Up Concealor
, really good and gives you amazing coverage.
