This Real-Life Bride & Groom Ditched All The Traditional Wedding Norms & We Are Lovin’ It

When we think of weddings, we think of traditional outfits and rituals, extravagant decor and vibrant hues. That’s what great Indian weddings usually mean to us. But every now and then, we come across a few real-life couples who remind us that shaadi is quite personal. It’s supposed to be the most special day of our lives and we need to enjoy it as per our choice. Are you looking for some inspo to make your D-day the grandest day of your life and personalise every element of it? Then you have to check out this real-life bride and groom Radhika and Rishab’s wedding album, which is every bit unconventional yet hella desi.

The two met six years ago at their university in New York and felt an instant connection. They talked for hours and hours and realised that their conversations would never come to an end. Radhika and Rishabh decided to do away with the conventional rules of a wedding and did things their own way. While talking about it, the bride said, “We ditched male pandits for Female pandits, an idea we were both very passionate about. We ditched over cluttered mandaps for a wooden minimalistic mandap with some flowers and a whole lot of absolutely gorgeous Victorian chandeliers. We had an amazing hill station with weather and breeze supporting us that day. Everything was just perfect. And that’s how I married my King.”

We have to say that the Mr and Mrs are defs reminding us of a royal Egyptian king and queen and here’s everything we’re loving about their shaadi festivities:

The Colourful Pool Party

Instead of opting for regular mehendi and haldi ceremonies, Rishabh and Radhika opted for a chilled-out pool party. The bride wore a chic bikini top with a colourful evil eye design and a ruffled skirt in beige. The highlight of her quirky attire was the veil that she added to her outfit to give her overall look a traditional touch. We have to say, she nailed it!

Rishabh, on the other hand, kept things casual and chic with a pink shirt and white shorts. The couple added a vibrant touch to their day by using colour bombs and sprays.

The Bride & Her Halo Crown

For the wedding, Radhika chose a traditional red lehenga with peacock motifs in zardosi work all over it. She kept her makeup minimal and dupatta lightweight to keep her OOTD modern and classy. But, the unconventional dulhan did not hold back with her hair accessories. She opted for a regal halo crown and statement headband. Honestly, it added a major royal appeal to her overall look and we’re loving every bit of it.
