The name Sabyasachi is synonymous with all things grand and extravagant in the fashion world. The celebrated couturier just has a way of turning everything he touches into something luxe. Well, this is exactly why Sabyasachi’s latest collection has left us feeling high and dry.
Sabyasachi recently unveiled his Resort 2023 collection and it is all about floral prints and fluid fabrics. Here, take a look at the collection:
The garments might be evocative of an old-world charm for some of you. The question is—will you pay a fortune for a printed saree or kurta? Admittedly, the garments have aesthetic value for collectors and connoisseurs of fine fabrics and artistry. The artisans of the Sabyasachi Art Foundation have done a phenomenal job at creating these one-of-a-kind prints. But for those who are just looking to create a floral summer look, these garments hold no USP!
We also have reservations about the muted colour palette. It would be kinda nice to see Sabya going all out with his prints and opting for brighter contrasts for a more striking collection. What we see now is simply underwhelming and we’d rather opt for more affordable fashion brands on the internet to create similar (and more lively) looks:
Don’t at us, please! With Sabyasachi, we expect OTT glamm and drama which seems to be missing from the Resort 2023 collection. Sad but true!
