The Author ‘Tweaking’ Content For Modern Indian Women
Twinkle Khanna is not your average Bollywood star. As the daughter of legendary actors, Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, Twinkle was expected to embrace stardom. She acted for a while, won accolades, and then broke away from the mould. In 2002, Twinkle kickstarted her entrepreneurial journey with The White Window, an interior design store in Mumbai. But Twinkle was still itching for more and found the perfect solution in Mrs Funybones, a newspaper column. The readers were in awe of her wit so much so that Twinkle was prompted to publish Mrs Funnybones as a book in 2015. It made Twinkle one of the most-selling women authors in India! Twinkle followed it with two more books—The Legends of Lakshmi Parsad (2016) and Pyjamas Are Forgiving (2018). Twinkle then channelled her love for content into Tweak India, a digital media platform dedicated to modern Indian women!
Power Move
In 2022, Good Glamm Group acquired a majority stake in Tweak India and made it a part of its fast-growing content-to-commerce conglomerate. While Twinkle continues to lead the digital media platform, the acquisition gave her some time to do what she loves best—learning new things! In September, Twinkle took to Instagram and shared that she has enrolled for a Master’s degree in creative writing! Twinkle is an inspiration for everyone afraid to take a leap of faith. Her journey is a reminder that it’s never too late to learn new things or restart!
