The IIFA Awards 2023 turned out to be a grand spectacle. We saw tons of celebrities gracing the award night in their fashionable best and witnessed some power-packed performances. Varun Dhawan and Nora Fatehi also performed at the event and set the stage on fire with their energetic dance. However, a part of it didn’t sit well with the netizens.
A video of Varun Dhawan’s performance from IIFA is doing the rounds on the internet. In it, the Bhediya actor can be seen dancing to some chart-topping songs, “Garmi” from his movie Street Dancer 3D being one of them. But, there was a twist.
For Varun’s performance, the Garmi song was remixed to the tunes of Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham’s “Say Shava Shava”. Nora Fatehi also joined the actor for his performance and recreated her hook step with Varun on the mashup. Scroll down to check out their video!
The song and their performance were refreshing for sure but looks like not everyone was impressed. One person commented, “Who the hell thought this was a good idea? Who approved it? How did it pass all those stages of quality control and manage to reach the stage and now, our eyes? I need to speak to the manager. A manager. ANYONE!!!”. Another person talked about how cringe the performance was and wrote, “When did bollywood.become so cringe, genuinely asking?” Here, take a look at some of the comments:
When Varun Was Trolled For Lifting Gigi Hadid
This was not the first time that Varun Dhawan got the world talking with his stage performance. During a performance at the NMACC Gala in April 2023, Varun received a severe backlash for lifting up supermodel Gigi Hadid in his arms and planting a kiss on her cheek. Varun later clarified how it was all part of the act and Gigi was aware of it too. But still, fans were not very happy about it.
Well, looks like Varun is consistently failing yo impress the fans. Here’s hoping he finds his way back to them soon!
